$48,000 with the Laguna Seca package included. Seems like it's 50/50 on the "worth it" department.

Is the Laguna Seca package street legal? The captions of the pictures seemed to imply it is not.

Love the idea of the functional brake ducts...but don't those look like cheap dryer hoses?

Yes, but the included but not installed LS chin spoiler is not. 41k gets you into the car and for 43k you get the Torsen differential and Recaro seats. Either the Mustang GT or Camaro SS is pretty easily optioned into the high 30's. I would say they have split the difference between the GT and the GT500 about as down the middle as could be reasonably expected.

So if the SS goes to the 5.5 next gen V8 by the 2012/2013 model year then the performance should be a bit closer for a bit less money? Obviously there other significant changes that would have to be made suspension wise. Thoughts?

Not sure about that. They removed standard Mustang features from this version (sound deadening, the navigation package, probably other stuff).

It's $11-12k over a Mustang GT. I think a lot of folks will feel that's not worth it.

Either way though, it is another option for Ford fanboys.

Considering the Boss is AT LEAST as cool as the more expensive GT500, it's a good price.

I'd drive it. The driving lights in the grille are by far my least favorite aspect about the Mustangs since 2005. Any model w/o those lights looks a ton better in my opinion. I mean they look like 4x4 lights like the ones on the wrangler or on the light bars they used to put on the top of trucks and SUVs. I'd be super happy if it came with the CS edition fog lights as well.

I think it's a lot of car for the money, performance wise.
