Born in Tacoma, lived in Tacoma, Orting, Parkland, and a few other locations in the state. These pictures make me look forward to retiring from the Air Force and possibly heading back up to the Northwest.

Don't tell anyone but it really doesn't rain in Seattle any more than most places in the U.S. We get about 33" of rain a year. So does New York, Chicago and a lot of other major cities.

We tend to get "drizzle" through the winter though, rather than huge rainstorms that dump all at once. So, it's greyer here during the winter. Most of the "rain" here you can walk out in shorts and a t-shirt and barely get wet.

Now, if you go out to the Olympic Penninsula, they get about 140" of rain a year. We are in the rain shadow of those mountains though...thus a LOT less rain.
