A new Grand National... that would be something I would buy but I think the Regal GS might be as close as we get. Though it would be cool if they wedged an LS3/L99 into the Regal somehow.

Or better yet shove a turbo v6 in the thing.

Insignia OPC in Europe has a 2.8T V6 in it.

Apparently the 2.0T in the GS actually works better though, according to several people who have driven it. More balanced and handles better due to the lighter engine.

I would personally love to see a camaro ss or z28 rebadged as a buick grand national.

First cause i think it would be a cool car. Second cause I think the camaro rides very nicely and would ride even nicer if they softened it up a bit for the buick crowd. And 3rd because I think the more cars GM sells on the chassis, the more viable it will be.

AWD Regal, 3.0 TT, Brembos, forged 19s, Carbon Black Metallic paint = Market Mayhem!

As per OP, there isn't a GMC Dealer in the country that would turn down having a "Trans Am" to sell beside those trucks 'n Buicks...

No thanks. No more rebadges please. Even the next Sierra and Silverado aren't going to be rebadges.

A Grand national would definatly need it's own body, it would have to be a little more luxury looking with more space IMHO But man, would I love to see a new GN/GNX. Pontiac and the Trans am are dead now, let's not poke it in eye with a stick.

In short --

It would whore out the vehicle...rebadges are generally bad.

It would decrease sales. The Sporty coupe segment is not a limitless market.

Finally, and most importantly in my humble opinion, a Firebird is NOT a GMC -- it would soil the nameplate...and GMC doesn't do cars.
