My dealership adventures these past 2 weeks!

Well, my family has spent a lot of money on new vehicles these past two weeks. My brother bought a 2011 Silverado 2500HD LTZ Duramax two weeks ago after finally locating a 2011, thus he had to compromise on a few options. We went to the dealership to pick up the truck, but the truck had a few light scratches! The dealer said they'll buff it out and give him a free wax to compensate, so we had to wait a few hours. It turned out to be alright though, cause we got to test drive a new CTS Coupe and he even had a just traded in Mercedes Benz E Class (I think lol, it is hard to recall exactly) AMG ; I can't remember which certain E class it was, but I do remember the dealer said it stickered for $120,000 (take this with a grain of salt, because I believe he had the price confused with something else) and it had 6.3L badging on the sides and AMG on the tachometer.

The fully-loaded CTS Coupe was absolutely remarkable. It was surprisingly quick for the 3.6L and the ride was awesome; it was like you were driving on air. The seats were very comfortable, visibility was good, and overall the interior was in great taste and seemed to be made from quality materials. I give GM a 5 out of 5 for this one. The Mercedes on the other hand simply wasn't my cup of tea. IMO, it wasn't worth near as much as the CTS, despite its so called $120K sticker price; the reason why I say "so called" is because it just felt cheaper to me. The interior's design was just bland and awful looking, but it was admittedly made from quality materials. The seats weren't as comfortable and visibility was worse than the CTS. The acceleration wasn't near what I expected from a 6.3L, but the braking was very responsive, almost touchy. The ride was good as well but IMO wasn't as good as the CTS. Overall I'd give this a 2 out of 5; I wouldn't waste $30K on this car honestly. After all of this they finally got the truck ready to go. It has every option besides a sunroof, navigation, and step bars.

Now we come along to my grandfathers birthday present, a 2010 Silverado 1500 LT. We surprised him with it. It rode surprisingly well for a truck, and the Z71 speedometers looked cool. While we was there and finishing up the paperwork, I came across a '06 GTO in great condition. I didn't ask how many miles it had on it, but they were asking $19K so I assumed it didn't have too much. If I had the money I would have been driving the car home that day, but you can't always get what you want.

I'd take my GT500 over all of that and spank it for less than $50K.

Well, I don't believe my 78 year old grandfather would appreciate a GT500.

I think it is more to the tune of failed comprehension skills. (We will not even point out the fact the posts that were..less comprehensive..do not appear to own GM vehicles)

you had an advantage i was attempting to read it at 2:30 am. so for some strange reason:

"IMO, it wasn't worth near as much as the CTS, despite its so called $120K sticker price"

read that "the CTS wasnt worth its so called 120k sticker price". a lot of us late night people should agree comprehension is a whole nother story during the late hours. ....im still ashamed at that huge reading booboo though......

Did you happen to catch Letterman the other night, talking about one of his scariest driving experiences? In Germany on the Autobahn in a 911 doing a buck-50 when, outta nowhere, came a Benz AMG WAGON "filled with a family after church" that about blew him off the road...

Nice trucks.
