the dodge viper is going away, but its a sports car just like the corvette.

There are 3 types of Muscle these days.

1. Muscle car - Camaro, Mustang, Challenger
2. Family Muscle - 300C SRT8, CTS-V, Charger SRT8
3. Super Muscle - Viper, Corvette

Viper's, Corvette's, Ford GT's can also be referred to Sports cars due to them being extremely fast, and has good handling..BUT.

If you think about it, what really IS a sports car? Camaro? No. Corvette? No. Ferrari F430? Yes: American makes call their 2 door 400HP cars "Sport's Cars" but if you think of it, the term "Sports Car", mean's european....F430, 911 Turbo, Gallardo LP560. Those are sports cars. Corvette's and Vipers may have some european styling, but in the end...they are just Muscle cars.

It's in the same league as Corvette. Sports car.

If you go with the British definition of muscle car, apparently anything with a V8 and RWD qualifies, which explains Top Gear including the CTS-V in their muscle car episode...
