I wouldn't mind a SVT Cobra to replace the GT500 and a SVO to fit between.

I wasn't upset. I just had a lot of time on my hands to pose hypothetical questions.

It seems kind of wierd to me that Ford is running so many engines in the same HP range. Granted, the V-8 will have more low end torque than a turbo 6, but if the HP is the same, can you convice enough buyers to buy either a 1/4 miler or a track burner to make a profit on both?

I think this is pure speculation on their part. That tach spins to 9k rpm and has a redline that appears to be just under 8k rpm. Well, guess what else does? That's right, just as somebody mentioned earlier the Boss 302.

This may be a turbo car, but that is a Boss 302 gauge cluster.

SVT was responsible for the GT500, and they'll be responsible for the next one too. Ford has made it very clear, and the insider buzz concurs, the Shelby will remain a Shelby. But, to be honest, that would have been pretty easy to forecast even with no info with Mulally at the Helm. The run of 2011 MY GT500's has almost sold out before the year was halfway through. No way is he letting the marketing mavens drop that name.

This is not a production ready car, anything can change.
The Boss is still full year away, the drive-train testing hasn't stopped
theirs no sings of it being Turbocharge, the tack alone isn't proof.
lets not forget the Boss has some special "Red Key", that its rumored to raise the Revs to 8k .

The torque characteristics would be just the opposite. The 5.0 doesn't make peak torque (390 lb-ft) until 4250 rpm. The 3.5 ecoboost in the F150 makes peak torque (420 lb-ft) at 2500 rpm.

Because the ecoboost motors are being used in the F150, development costs are spread out, making it profitable to use in the Mustang. Ford has stated all along that they intend to use these motors throughout the lineup.

The turbo 6 will have more low end torque than the v8s.

doesnt make sence. the v6 ecoboost makes peak power at only 5500-5700rpm. the turbos run out of boost after. unless ford is putting bigger turbos to pull and hold to 8000rpm.
the ecoboost is meant for torque which is from 1500-5500rpm, this explains its v6 milage. however a simply up of the boost ir turbo swap and its a deadly motor.

As it has been duly noted, SVT never went away, therefore, cannot "come back". All of Ford's performance vehicles are engineered by SVT, including the current GT500.
