Saw the Challeneger DragPack in Action

I don't know where I should put tis so please move it if need be. I was at a rental at Lebabon Vallet today, pulled in and saw a huge rig parked. Ddin't think anything of it at first but two hours in I pull into the staging lanes and saw a kick ass white Drag Pack. They were doing the pre run crap so I went and misses their first run. So I went over and they immediately shut the hood. I asked how did they do and they said they we wroking on it and wouldn't tell me. I walked around the back and saw two fuel cells but they shut that as well. So I made it a point to watch the second run adn it died right of the launch, for maybe a second, sounded like it blew up, but then it came to life and freaking flew down the track. It ran a 12.29 or something very close at 125. And that was after dying. So needless to say I made it a point to let them know I'm ready to run if they can get that thing somewhere in the 10's. I told them I didn't want to make the look bad. I hate assholes like that. here are the pics I did get.

They can't let you see it because it's alien technology. "If they show you, they have to kill you!"

I was just try to be a dick back thats all. I didn't want to run their car if they couldn't get it to go any faster. What I meant about the a-hole comment was that they didn't have to be so rude and cocky about their stuff.

Sorry for the bad choice of words to explain myslef, I've been up since 4am est!

Don't get me wrong, that thing is going to flat out fly when they figure it out and smoke my ass. Prob low 9's? high 8's? I didn't have a shoot on the back. Once it did get going it dissapeared down the track.

I wonder why they are using a V10 in that?

For a drag race only car, wouldn't a 528" crate Hemi be a good choice? Put together an all out drag race, high compression 528 Hemi, about 750 hp or so and really yank the front end in the air.

"With a new 6.4-liter V8 due out for the 2011 Dodge Challenger, you'd expect the 2011 model year version of the special edition Mopar Drag Pak model to also get the more powerful engine… but you'd be wrong. In it's place is something even better: the Viper's 8.4-liter V10! That's right, with 512 cubic inches of displacement, the engine makes 600-hp and 560 ft-lbs of torque.

Also included in the package is a 2-speed automatic transmission, fuel cell, light weight polycarbonate door windows, lightweight drag racing front brakes and racing wheels and tires. "

That is not the 2011 Drag Pak Challenger with the 512 CID Viper V10... its a 2009 Drag Pak Challenger with a lil' 392 CID Hemi... The 70 or so 2011 Drag Paks that will be for sale are not built yet...

Have a look:
