He brought some very valid points up regarding tires and 60' times. No argument there.

On the other hand I think we were approaching the discussion from different angles with an exchange of some ribbing.

The entire key to the 5th gen boggle lies in the 60' and tires....I'd LOVE to put some big and skinnies on my car and see what it would turn.

The 5th gen will be at the disadvantage at the dragstrip compared to the 5.0.

Just the nature of the IRS. The SRA has the advantage in putting the power to the ground.

Well, when the camaro came out, it wasn't long to see racing videos on youtube and other places of it winning. I still haven't seen many 2011 Mustang racing videos. Of course the standard magazine runs are on there but only very few personal ones can be found. Are they not as fast as people thought they were?

You should probably go to youtube and search for them .. sure you will find lots of them .. even if you don't .. plenty of track vids .... and yes .. most of the time they are quicker than us stock ..

There are a bunch on YouTube. The only one I can find driving around on the streets here is a guy that I work with and he refuses to take it to the track and run me. I told him I would even pay his entry fee if he beats me and he still wont go.

I ran one when I was in ABQ. His 1/4 was slightly faster, but I beat him off the line 2/3 times, winning 2 out of 3 times

First time at the track in both of our cars respectively. It's a drivers race I think, but if you are equal drivers with the same RT it goes to the 5.0 stock for stock every time. One day I will grow up and make good money to afford the non-stock applications on my stock car!!

Thanks for the replies. I was meaning on youtube, there is not much. I just thought I would have seen more with all the hype before they came on sale.

I don't need a vid to see how they're running. I've been watching one at our track for the past month. It has no problem running with our camaros ,but it doesn't win all the time.
They are pretty even stock for stock.
