I think he's doing this: :middlefinger:.... j/k

I will admit, meking your car completely disappear into smoke like batman - is awesome...Think, if your being followed by the mob, smoke it up, and they won't plow through for fear of hitting you - and killing themsleves... then turn down that alley.

"Wil ( plant mgr. at corvette plant) said that he was trying to blow the tires on the Vette at the burn out contest at Carlisle. The only thing is he said he did not plan on blowing off the fiberglass. He said it was no big deal that the car used was a test mule and when they got it home they just put new fiberglass back on it. Also said the car would not be sold anyway that it would be distroyed when they were finished with it."

Blaze of glory, at least.

Why they "destroy" these test mules is beyond me. Someone out there in the GM loving world, I'M SURE, would LOVE to pick up that mule and hold onto it. Whether it be parking it for good on display somewhere, or fixin' her up and drivin' her every day to and from work and in between. That's just plain sad.

Oh, and that guy in my pix IS giving the "rock and roll" sign out of the drivers side window. I have to tell you...coolest burnout I'd ever seen. He was running NOS in his Camaro and would hit it to get the RPM's up high enough to get it into the next gear. First, second, third, fourth... that was AMAZING to watch...and then here came this hand up through the smoke and that was just about all you could see...just a hand poking up through the smoke....freakin cool...

Liability can always be gotten around with a waiver of some sort.

"I, Joe Mulebuyer, do hereby acknowledge and agree that the vehicle I am purchasing is not a production vehicle and has not been fully tested or designed for any use other than as a preproduction display model.

I acknowledge and agree to hold General Motors, and all its subsidiaries, innocent and harmless in the event of injury, damage to property, and/or loss of life as a result of the use of this vehicle in any manner."

Now, just make sure to be very careful around that car.

the main thing is that the test mules are never given a VIN since they will have various things installed or not installed. such as if said test mule didnt have airbags or a speedo/gauges because it was only used as a mockup/concept to provide an image of what the car would look like. just things to keep in mind.

dont get me wrong, I would LOVE to have some of their test mules. one of a kind baby!!!

True...didn't think about that. Good point.

Not neccesarily. Waiver signed...tire falls off at 65mph and you wreck into a building full of people. Everyone sues you. You sue GM for selling a vehicle where the wheel falls off. They say the warned you. You high dollar attorney easily gets around that coming up w/ some crazy, but correct rebuttal.

VIN #'s can be assigned even if one wasn't every given to it in the first place. I can build a home made trailer and then get apply for a VIN that I made up. As long as there isn't a matching VIN as the one I applied for, I can get it. I don't see why you couldn't do the same w/ a test mule.
