Hope it doesn't go down that path (POS type comments), people who own purpose built drag cars work on them constantly, even when nothing's wrong. Doesn't matter the make.

Erich Heuschele is a very good wheelman, and his "excursion" in the '08 One Lap (in an SRT-massaged "skunkworks" pre-prod. mule) at Road America was because of mechanical failure from another competitor. Erich, also being an SRT engineer, ran the One Lap several times in recent history in all manner of SRT-massaged Mopars...a wicked-fast SRT4 Neon, lightened SRT8 300C , and a very trick Jeep Gr. Cherokee SRT8 that, at some venues, ran with a sprintcar wing on the roof...downforce!

To compete with the FR500CJ and Drag Challenger, it would be "interesting" to start with GM PP's Camaro body-in-white, ready as a "roller". Trouble is, there are soooo many variations of possible drivelines available from GM PP and aftermarket sources...all the better to fit in many sanctioned classes. It will take a commitment from GM AND GM PP, and a commitment from "paying customers", to see this done.

But it IS "do-able"...
