reckless- pleaded down to careless no points, small fine, aggressive driver class
speeding 60/45- dismissed
speeding 77/70- dismissed
now i got a new 1 speeding 43/35 and you damn well know im paying him his $150. statistics show above 75% win rate on tickets when lawyer used.
How about you stop driving like a jack-off and pocket the $600 more you will probably end up spending?

As soon as a third lane opened up i got over and proceeded to pass, didnt realize i "might" have hit 85 mph, at least thats what the state trooper said. Let me tell u, a 20 mph over 4 point ticket will ruin your summer fun. I live in MI so I decided to look into and seek the services of Wallace-Little Attorneys at Law out of Indiana. Must i say the best decision made. They got it reduced to "mechanical failure" ,( not sure what that is,but dont care), no points $180 fine. John Little did a great job and i cannot thank him enough.
cudos on you "win" heres what happens in real life. You hire your attorney who shows up on your court date with you. He goes into the prosecutor's office (who he is probably friends with) and the officer may or may not be there depending on if it is a pre-trial or trial date. Your attorney says hey John (making up random prosecutor name) my guy (you) is a great guy, it was raining, there were semi's...blah blah blah blah. What do you say we give him an equipment violation with no points and he pays the fine. Prosecutor doesnt care cuz the court is getting paid. Officer doenst care cuz he is getting overtime just for being there. They chit chat some more and your attorney comes out and says something like...boy i sure went to bat for you. they didnt wanna budge but they knew it wasn't a a winner so we got it down to a equipment violation. Everyone is happy. Prosecuter - court got paid, Officer - got overtime, Defense Attorney - made a litte for no work, you- felt good cuz it got reduced.

Oh and Michigan and Georgia are non-compact states. What that means is points accrued in other states would not transfer to your Michigan license. The ticket would show up...but no points anyway.

WHY PAY ATTORNEY FEES IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO??

Back in 87', I got ticket for doing 43 in a 30 (speed limit dropped from 45 to 30 and due to lack of signage, I didn't realize it til it was too late)....Went to court, met with prosecuter, and got ticket reduced to "careless acceleration"....still paid the $70.00 fine (all they really care about), but no points were taken off my record....Would an attorney have done much better for me? Maybe, maybe not, and at what price?

i dont drive like a jack off and maybe if you had a manual youd "drive" your car rather than just steer it! 1 of those tickets came coming back from camaro fest in a pack of 10 camaros, another i was 3rd in a line of cars that got pulled over. yea sure the 137 ticket was a little high speed but some of us are interested in seeing how far the speedo will really go. take your foot out of your ass and mash it on the gas and dont worry bout how i spend my $600.

Evidence that automobiles capable of inordiantely dangerous speeds, on busy poorly designed , constructed and maintained public hwys, don't kill, eventually only blindly arrogant drivers do.......................The point is, it isn't the amount of money they're willing to invest in proving themselves wrong or righteous thats important, they can piss all of the cash they want too out the window, who cares. It is the tragic consequences put upon human flesh and bones thats left in the aftermath of their thoughtless and careless actions that the rest of us can't afford to worry about.

don't want to sound like a douche, but all i got from this was,

"everyone else was speeding, so it's ok if i do the same" and "Don't worry about the way i drive and spend my money, it's only other peoples lives on the road".

OP....

Indiana does not reciprocate with Michigan unless you have over 6 points on your MI drivers license.

You would have been safe with showing up, taken the 50/50 chance the officer shows, and asked yourself, based on your drivers history you deserved a break.

Welcome to the forum! How much did the lawyer cost?

I was in my '69 Z/28 and had a little wheel spin from a redlight. Didn't notice the cop that was about 4 cars back. He pulled me over, because he said that I left some marks on the road and he heard my car. Gave me 2 tickets, for excessive acceleration and expired inspection sticker. On the inspection sticker, I reminded him that my car was older than 30 years and didn't require one. Still got the ticket. Went to court, the DA spoke to me and said they got rid of the inspection sticker ticket and moved the other ticket to a non moving violation. Nothing will show up on your record and pay the cashier $80. I said ok and that was that.
