I rocked Alpine Type E 12" subwoofers in my Cobalt. They hit really hard with my 600W Kenwood amp. I have a high-end Premier head unit that allows me to fine tune my sound output. None of these are the pinnacle, but they all produced very good sound.

No, there is a brand called boss, bose is more like a home audio company, Boss makes some really good subwoofers and speakers im not sure about head units, but i thought it would bein the list, sorry about alpine...i owned lots of alpine head units and i loved them.

Right now i got 2 pioneer 10's and they hit pretty hard, they ran hooked to a infinity 800w amp, the sound is great for the prive i got the subs for $40 a piece.

Have any of you guys heard those crazt subwoofers that are out now-a-days that have like freaking 1000-3000 rms watts!! Holly cow!!

Oh yeah anyone here been to a SPL competition?

Not street legal performance lol
SPL=Sound Presure Level competition. I heard that those jet as loud as a jet becuase crazy guys bring in trucks with 8 15' subs. WOW!!

You didnt really list any good brands, pioneer makes good head units..thats about all. And fosgate and MTX are "OK" store brands, found at best buy usually. What about infinity, alpine, boston acoustics, kicker, JL Audio, Ecplipse, Hifonics. . . the list goes on. As far as boss and lighting audio, i wouldent bother even installing it in my car, and sony car audio is absolute crap as well.

I didn't click on your web site, But im a pretty big audio fan guy I know many good brand like
Clarion
Pioneer
Kicker
Audiobahn
Hifonics
Infinity
JVC
JL
Boss
Alpine
Orion
Power acoustik (amps only pretty much)
Extant
Ma audio
Memphis

I just listed the most popular ones, like i said its for both CAR and HOME audio, there is many companys that make car audio but not home audio, having a kickass home theatre system is awsome.

Idecided to post the most popular ones and that make both home and car audio, I know not ALL make both, just pick if your favorite is on there.....

Alpine,
Kenwood,
JL Audio.

Top three car audio companies imho. Not in any particular order.

A lot of people really like JL. Why isn't that listed? That's considered one of the top brands. Kicker has a calling, too, even though I wouldn't put it up with the greats, but some of the buyers swear by it. Audiobahn is also a great company for amps and subs, especially since their amps stay cool fairly well.

What I'm basically pointing out is that there are too many companies to really make a good list. Besides, each brand has tiers of quality. For instance, my Alpine Type E subs were nothing to a Type R, S, or X. Every company has these tiers, and it is difficult to argue that one brand is superior for every level of performance or that one brand is more bang for the buck. A lot of audio is fine tuning. You have to decide how much of that amp you are going to use, whether you are going to install extra components to keep your lights from dimming from a hard bass hit, or what size subs you are going to use. It also matters whether you like country, rap, rock, or electronica music because each system is best tuned for a certain style of output.

I'm not voting in this one. There are too many variables.

No kidding? Huh -- learn something new everyday. I never heard of them - that's why I asked.
