The GT350 has a lot nicer parts on it vs the stock gt500. Think of it as a baby Supersnake.

It more about exclusivity then practically, especially if you already own a vintage GT350.

can someone please explain to this ignoramus how the GT350 can improve on the GT500's 0-60 by half a second? Is it the tires? Is it the suspension? What is it? Whatever it is I want to do the same to my car too.

thanks.

I would guess a combination of both ... effective delivery to the rear ... It would be interesting though to have the same person drive these cars on the same day to see how close they really are ..

Hats off to Ford, they got it going on.

I like the direction they went with the aluminum 60's style vintage grill on the GT350 and I understand its not for everybody, but was probably put there for the nostalgia and uniqueness to separate it from the the Supersnake which retains the stock GT500 grill.

I agree with you on the fact that I'd rather have a barley used Z06 over a new GT350 but only until the the C7 debuts and its time to sell the old model Z.

this times are simply due to better Tires and suspension, something Ford SVT can't do on the account of to much money. The GT500 is defectively a better buy, you get a much more unique car. The GT350 is a 5.0L on steroids, i read Shelby didn't do anything to the internals on the regular GT350, not so sure on the 600hp version.

M/T did a re-test on the GT500 and Most of the performance is there.
0 to 60 4.1 seconds
1/4 mile in 12.35 seconds @115.75 mph
1.01g grip (avg)
0 to 60 Braking 103 feet (avg)
a simple investment in better tire will net you the same performance or better.
