lol yea but the 2010 GT500 w/ KB and 725rwhp was sick. it was a my local shop... and then it went on the lift.... the rear end was ALL brown and rusted!!! im glad to hear they remedied that in 11'

800Hp won't fix that back end. I didn't realize just how bad they screwed it up on the 2010s until I followed an earlier one today. The should of kept the back side on the 2005 car with the front end of the 2010 ,then they would have had a very hot car.

That's what most everybody on the forums say especially 07-09 owners on the Ford forums. I personally think the 05-09 tail's look dated and think the new 2010+ rears on the right color GT500's look bad ass like this one.



P.S late build date 2010's also got the painted rear but no AL cover

I will agree it looks better on black. That car also looked like it didn't have stock rears on it. That was the best rear shot of a 2010 I've seen. Although the GT500 does have a different rear then the GT which makes it look better also.

The rear end wouldn't however keep me from buying a GT500. It's a great car.

My 2010 GT500 has a painted axle tubes and housing. My 2011 GT however is bare metal. Doesn't bother me a single bit because I know it is much stronger than the Camaro IRS I had and am willing to live with that.

Just for durability sake I also installed a girdle and axle tube brace kit on it:

Kind of how I felt. It isn't my favorite rear end... and it didn't keep me from buying one, obviously, but the more I look at it the more it grows on me at least in my color combo.

Need to get under mind and see if its painted. Now I'm curious.

Its the same design the only thing's that differ is a GT500 specific spoiler even though there are two or three factory spoiler options for the GT and the lower plastic diffuser is slightly different on a GT500 but is standard I think on the GT California special.

Stock GT rear in this pic (which I think would look even better with a spoiler of some sort but each is to his own) or he cold leve it off but painted the diffuser and black out the emblems for a stealthy look.
