I'll agree, because you apparently value performance above all else and as such diminish major flaws with the C6 in the process. Unless the Corvette really trips their switch for reasons that cannot be quantified (fascination with the name, etc) I don't imagine a lot of folks are going to be clamoring for a car with the truly major shortcomings the C6 currently lives with compared to other new cars, even cars of the same ilk. (a base Boxster is a virtual palace inside compared to any C6) Of course, the fact that sales numbers tell exactly that same story doesn't hurt.
I have read this thread, I aggree and disagree, I have been going to open track days for the past 7 years. There are short comings for the C6, but it is not as Dreadful as you are describing it. The last vette I drove on the track was the 08 MY(when the ls3 cameout and the steering was recalibrated), compared to the 2006 vette the steering fell was good, i honestly don't see anyone complaining about it. The interior is its only major shortcoming IMVHO. The seats absolutely need more lateral support, And I hope for the C7 GM gets rid of the leaf springs and use adjustable coilovers.
Also the base Porche boxster is a complete turtle for the price point, remeber people buy 2 seat performance cars for PERFORMANCE 1st. No, that does not mean creature comfort does not matter, but I bet that is the number one reason people will buy a vette over a base porche boxster not for "reasons that cannot be quantified" Just sayin.

No.. I was talking about the CTS-V.. but posted it under your reply.

A CTS-V Pully Swap alone would boost the engine to about 630HP. The LS3 in the Vette with a simple tune and a CAI has yielded me about 418HP at the wheels (approx 480 at the Fly) in my Vette. It was done a Mustang Dyno and the tech that did it told me that the thing was normally conservative by about 5%. A Cam swap would push well past the Z06's 505.

GM is notorious for doing this... essentially putting out cars with lower power rating.. then coming out later with higher numbers for the same car by some grace of GOD and a supposed recalibration of the ECM.

Anyway.. it was fun tussling with U fellas over which is faster... but truth be told when it comes to these types of vehicles... it's usually a DRIVER'S RACE. As great of a driver as U might be... U would probably be a better one in a GM.. over a POS Ford.

I'm a Vette owner and wouldn't have ever considered a Mustang as an alternative. A Viper... a Ford GT.. a 911 Turbo... but a MUSTANG... U must be smoking something. Truth be told... the new Camaro is closer to being a worth Vette contender than the Mustang. Sorry.

You fail to take into consideration that there are actually people out there that don't prescribe to the petty arguments of Chevy vs Ford. Or Camaro vs Mustang. Sure we may favor one over the other.

Hell I would say I prefer a Wendy's Burger over a McDonald's. But I don't hate people who favor McDonald's. I don't consider those who like McDonald's more my enemy.

I agree. I would take the Z06 over the GT500.

I am not trying to compare a Mustang to a Vette. It is the most absurd retarded thing possible.

i had a 2010 SS, ordered and waited 8 months to the day for #3081...

when it came down to it, the dealer offered me a deal that would be silly to pass up and i walked into the gt500... it's smaller and lighter and alot more car then the camaro was.

might wanna be a little less agro with people man, fits the rest of you too well.

If U gotta good deal on the GT500.. I can see what U are saying. Outside of that I would have kept the SS and put a coupla grand in and had something that wore that Ford out .
