I thought these were only being sold overseas. Anyone have input on that?

Not bad for a soup can.

Ford has impressed me a lot lately.

My wife's Ford Edge is really nice, I really like my Mustang.

The SVT Raptor is awesome, the New Mustang Is great, they are really turning around things from the crap that built in the 80s and 90s, and even early 2000s.

That is the new 12 model, the US finally gets the same cars as everyone else and yes, looks like we will see the turbo model too!

Is that a focus or a Fiesta? They look REALLY similar now.

I kinda like it. It's a more sporty Mazda3 hatch.

Your Edge must be from another dimension. Ours is a rattletrap, horribly underpowered, uncomfortable, "as many blindspots as a 5th gen", hunk of junk.

2007 Ford Edge SEL AWD. Leased and stickered just south of 31K in 2007.

My lower back actually went numb driving from Kalamazoo, Mi to Toledo, Oh. Had to stop in Jackson just to get the feeling back in my legs. I cannot stand that thing.

Cannot wait to get rid of it. Probably going to go used since no new vehicles are all that appealing to her.

Speaking of Mazda 3, did someone "borrow" its nose and put it on, upside down?

I don't know the differences if any in the different model years of the Edge. So I can't speak intelligently about the 2007.

But My wife's is a 2010 Ford Edge V6 SEL w/ leather and Sync, and 18 inch chrome alloys.

It has plenty of power for a family hauler-- 265hp/250 ft lbs of torque. (FWD)

It has been on a Trip from West Central Texas to NC then to Myrtle Beach SC, then back to Texas, with plenty of room for family of 4 (2 in car seats) all our luggage, and the comfort level was great!

Averaged 24.5 mpg for the entire trip!

Fit and Finish is great on the interior, no rattles, no gaps in interior fitment. Not one blindspot issue, thanks to the integrated blindspot mirrors in the lower corner of the side mirrors, and the rear back up sensors to boot (pun intended)

Now the New 2011 have an awesome electronics package that expands on the coolness of Sync. My wife is already ooo'ing and aweing over it. lol

2007
SEL
All Wheel Drive
Painted aluminum alloys (Keep clean easily)
Heated seats
Leather
Automatic
Audiophile option
Duratec 35 (265hp as well)

No Sync (2008 first year)
No Blindspot 'assistance'
Shift points programed at the damndest spots for long 'fuel sipping' gears.
Averages 19mpg if you're lucky (Same engine)
Fit and finish are not an issue
Ergonomics and comfort for long hauls (NW ohio to Trenton NJ and back) for 4 adults obviously another story.

All in all it looks cute but I think without the newer blindspot dohickies you'd find that it's hard to see cars coming up on ya. And IMO there is no support in those seats and the odd forward jut of the headrests coupled with the low back bucket seats give for awkward seating.

And I've had multiple people confirm that my old Explorer (2001) with it's base sound system sounded BETTER than the 'optional top of the line' system in the Edge; even after I programmed it to be as close to the Explorers.

Even my 'old' Monsoon 500 Watt sounds just as good if not better in some places. If they had the shaker option available then it'd be no contest..

We've just hated this thing from month two. After the newness wore off it just became a chore to drive in. Couple that with my mother having neck and back issues the seating of the Edge just exacerbates the problem.

In the end we've pretty much ruled out the following as well:

Fusion: Just as 'bad' a ride when they rented a 2010 in NJ.
Focus: too small
Taurus: Close but cuts into their savings too much for what they want
Explorer: Not in time for lease expiration
Flex: Flat out hate

It's a pity because with the Z plan we get a good chunk off the sticker, but Ford's not doing it for us.. again.

And for the record: GM isn't doing it nor is Chrysler. And they won't set foot into a foreign dealership even at gunpoint.

TL;DR: My parents pretty much hate all the new cars.

Thanks for clearing that up.

That Focus kinda looks like Scion TC but it doesn't look familiar. What is it supposed to be?

You should honestly try a new Chevy Equinox, they are really really nice cars...I test drove a GMC Terrain and I loved driving it and the interior was extremely nice.
