@OP...

If you are happy with your purchase then I am happy for you. I do think Hyundai is doing something really special with the Genesis line. They started with the sedan and it trickled down to the coupe. They are doing to others like what Lexus did to the auto makers 20 years ago when they snuck in with high quality cars that were cheap.

I think it will be a good car. I wish you many trouble free miles!

I noticed your profile has changed.

OP, the Genesis coupe is a fine car. Korean are better built than a lot of people think. Ignorant people are stuck in the past and have opinion based on when Hyundai did make cheap low quality cars much like the American automakers did forever until just handful of years ago.
come back in 3 years to see if our camaros are still "glued" together!
i hope so for the "generals" sake!..for a long time, they produced "crap"..i hope and pray this one is bolted together better!..i like it too much!

If the Genesis performs better then the RSX that's one sweet ride buddy. Again congrats on your new purchase!

Not to mention you could probably get away with driving the Genesis in winter if you had to, the camaro, hell no.
not true!..mount the correct tires,(all-seasons,or full boat snows, and the camaro will drive just fine!..plenty of "ballast"(weight!),and traction control, along with "posi" makes the difference!..keep the speed down, and you will be ok!

You dont have to wait three years. Just read all the complaints here now. Quality doesn't happen overnight. Just because some mags rate a Ford or GM or whatever with high "initial quality" ratings, doesn't mean it is a quality product for the long haul. INITIAL is the key word. I am doing my part, 3 of the last 5 vehicles I bought in the past 3 years are American made cars.

I have driven GM my entire life - 38 years old...22 years. NEVER have I walked home with a GM car under me. My Jeeps cannot say that..

My father has driven for 51 years. Not one time has GM "CRAP" not got him home. His BMW 7 lost a fuel pump that stranded him once. His Ford F150 broke too many times to count.

Did GM build some 'boring cars' - yeah. Did they build some failures? Yeah. Did everything they build turn to 'crap'? No. There are still a TON of old GM cars and trucks on the roads.

I hate your statement and all the Government Motors comments that keep popping up in these boards.

LOL, I have had the opposite experience, My Jeepes have NEVER left me stranded while my GMs have done it a few times.

GM, Ford and Chrysler all earned a reputation for horrible products and reliability from the mid 70's to the early 2000's. It was tapering off by the mid 90's but the stigma is still there.

Is it still true? nope. Do all three companies make great, reliable cars now? yep. Is this recent improvement enough to wipe out two decades of reputation and stigma? Not a chance in hell.

And the "Government Motors" is in the same style as "Found On Road Dead" and "Fix Or Repair Daily". Up until last year GM didnt have any clever or funny names to attach to it.

They do now..gotta ride it out.
