That is what I was thinking.

I mean I don't know if it will handle on par with the ZR1 but it will have about 400 more hp. That puts the ZR1 at a big disadvantage.

The HP disparity is more HP than most cars have period, lol.

Exactly man, but even the price range is right on par, if not better, with the ZR1...

1000 hp is too much.. If I wanted a drag car, I would build one. If I want a fast street legal car, with all the creature comfurts I have grown accustomted to, I will buy one. The two really don't comingle.

Ah, but you're entering that area of subjectivity again.....

I don't know about that. I bet every review of this car will begin with the words, "holy" or "wow." It's not just some gt500 with 1000hp; not a slapped together track-day car. I bet this car will put down monster times on the 'ring.

sorry. The word investment is a joke when talking about a car IMO
In '97, I bought and fully restored a '70 Buick GS Stage 1 Convertible for less money than a then-current Camaro SS. I still have that car, now with an extra 3,500 miles on it. Appraisal in hand, and insurance in place, for something in the upper range of this:

http://www.nadaguides.com/default.as...&z=13148&da=-1

That's a better return than my 401(k) over the same period...

And NO '97 Camaro SS is worth this kinda dough...not even the 1-of-100 LT4s...

I think what he was trying to say is that a new car is not an investment. There's no doubt that classic muscle/pony cars are going to appreciate in value as they get older.

Take a look at NADA values for 2005-up Hennesey Vipers...

But, generally speaking, a "depreciating asset"...

Right now I would start looking into purchasing 80's Ferrari's. Those are bound to appreciate since all kinds of kids grew up with those on their walls.

You're right....

It's much more useful on the highway
