actually buying a car can be "an investment"
Depending on your job, your travel habits, and your needs. You can go extremely economical buy a reliable small cheap car,, and it can end up being cheaper in the long run than mass transit or taxiing. Especially if you have a decent size commute a day. Your Return on investment when speaking about cars- doesn't mean that you buy a car for 30K and turn around use it for 5 years. And sell it for 30K. You have to factor in savings, practicality, convenience, etc etc. you have to calculate everything into it, not just price when bought, price when sold. I don't argue that a vehicle isn't a depreciating asset, because it most definitely is. But that doesn't mean that you the investment was a bad one. if I take off work early one day to watch my son's ball game (when he gets of that age). I lose some pay. But I have invested my time else where. I would still call my time with my son a great investment, even though I lost money doing it. Food for thought.

Yeah....Factory Warranty on all equipment is a big plus. for that kind of depreciating investment (unless undriven and kept in a hermetically sealed garage for 30 years) .

No one is likely to buy this car as a daily driver...
"Investment"? Relative, to what one might "reasonbly expect" at some future point down the road...and Manufacturer's cars are likely to bring more than some garage-built "hot rod special"... You'll notice in the NADA Guide NO listing for Nickey or Harrell/Gibb or Dana or Motion or... |

I guess for what you get, that isn't too bad of a pricetag .. it will run with cars with much larger pricetags than that

At the end it will be a useless car that will end storaged and sold at barret jackson in 2050 when we all ride in electric cars, the gas to feed it will be more expensive than the car :P

I hope you don't mean a 250gt california spyder because if that's the case, I will gladly buy that car from your buddy for $1 million. I'm sure the bank will be happy to loan me the money when they see what those cars sell for. If it's the PF cabriolet that would make more sense, but either way $10,000 to buy it in 1970 is extremely odd. There were only 40 PF cabriolets and LESS california spyders.
