I think Ford does a much better job of the exhaust from the factory than Chevy does. Muffler delete on Camaro sounds much better than on a Mustang.

It is possible as I have personally seen a stock one go 12.6 bone stock except for the DR's in the back and skinnies in the front. I think the DA that day was like 3800 too.

Here is that video:

Last month I went to the track again and he went 12.3 but with a CAI, tune and cat back.

Here is that video:

What? He said a stock 5.0 went 12.3. We are not talking 12.6 with drag radials and skinnies. Drag radials anyway can make a HUGE difference over stock tires.

I don't think think a 12.3 is going to happen bone stock, but I do believe it should beat the fastest stock camaro time. I think a low 12.5 will happen, and maybe a 12.3 stock with a tire.

well theyve already gone 11s with a tire and tune. 12.5 with little break in and not ideal weather.

do i think a 12.3 will happen? maybe with unbelievable mineshaft air and a dead hook.

remember some of the a6 5.0s are trapping 113-115, which is enough for a 12.3/12.4

Should have saved the $100 for gas. Muffler deletes do not sound that great. It sounds cheap to me. Of course it is cheap. And this is my point. Why take a great sounding car and ruin it?

To those who complain about the crackling... It is gonna happen unless you tune it out. My Camaro SS with cat-back crackled too:

Ford does a much better job with the exhaust sound from the factory no doubt and I agree the Camaro sounds better with just a muffler delete however when you go past that, I prefer the GT.

The GT500 sounds better than both IMO.

Sounds like Pep Boys did it. The Magnaflows I put on my Mustang sound much better than that. Eesh...

Yes, the tires can make a big difference but so can the DA. If he lived near ATCO or CECIL and ran in some negative DA like they regularly have when it's cool he could probably get a 12.3. All I am saying is that it is possible given the right conditions and a very good driver.

According to our own 1/4 records thread the fastest Camaro has gone 12.5 bone stock and the lighter 5.0 is a little faster.

We just got our hands on the new Stainless Works chambered cat back for the 5.0 and it sounds sick.
