I don't really see the problem here. Any harm to mustang guys actually looking for info is outweighed by the benefit of a lot less clutter in the other cars subforum.

Even in the mega-thread you can still search by term just like any other post on the site. If the idea is finding info on the mustang, best bet is to go to stangforums or stangheaven. Either site is MUCH more comprehensive than anything you will find here, regardless of whether all mustang stuff is in a mega-thread or not. If the idea is to compare the two cars, come here to find Camaro stuff, go to those sites for mustang stuff, then compare like Combat said. That's how I would handle it.

I think the problem with this is that if the mods single you out for special treatment, then the stang guys who have been here a while and are pretty civilized like sax1031 will wonder why you get to create your own threads and they don't...

Well add something to the discussion instead of hiding behind an emoticon

refute my original statement articulately and comprehensively and I will be forced to eat my words. no emoticons needed

They closed reposted information and booted people who posted once saying the camaro is so much better than the mustang.
It was what should have happened here. A lot of the mustang people don't even introduce themselves or make themselves a part of the community. That is called a troll.
I do enjoy hearing information about the mustang, but it is annoying seeing 20 threads about the same information.
If you look at the postings on the mustang forums at the time of the camaro release it isn't this bad.

Ok then, name a Mustang troll who's been banned here.

I wasn't referring to other forums, I was referring to this one, so what other forums do is irrelevant. The mods have gone out of their way to allow all Mustang owners (including the trolls) to be a part of these forums and (imo) what we've gotten is more trolling and less constructive conversations.

It seems that any Mustang discussion was all good back when the GT had only 315hp, the v6 had 210 and the Camaro was the king of the hill. Since the tide has turned, discussing the Mustang has turned taboo.

Evil twin was banned for a while, I don't know if he still is. All-or-nothing is banned right now. . . Who else do you think needs to be banned?

Your post doesn't merit an intellectual response. This is mainly because there are all of one or two mustang owners even involved in this discussion, of which they are not the subject, a fact you seem to have missed. You might want to notice from here on out that plenty, if not a majority of the mustang threads in this sub-forum are started by camaro owners. Besides that, your post is intentionally instigating more problems in a thread that is aiming to solve them.

I'm not sure if it was Sax, but there were multiple people helping me when we made it. It was working out perfectly. That's honestly how I got pulled into all this stupid debating in this section.

Well to be fair 8cd03gro, maybe my intended target has not read my original post yet or maybe they just haven't chosen to respond.

Long time lurker, and I don't post much, but here's how I see it.

There's a crapton of mustang trolls on the boards, and before the mega thread, you would think that the "other cars" section was the "MUSTANG ONLY" section. That shit was annoying. You'd have one guy post about EVO taking a 5.0 and running 10 something on nitrous, than you'd have a video of it posted in a new thread, then another one saying THE NEW MUSTANG ROCKS!!! and inside that thread it would say "It goes 10 seconds int he quarter on nitrous".

Then you'd have 6 other threads about how you like the styling more than the camaro. Do you really need 6 threads on that? I'm happy that there's a mega thread. If the mustang guys don't like it, they should learn to keep it organized. It's their own little slice of the heaven we call Camaro5. Stop bickering back and forth (that means you too camaro fanboys) and the mega thread would be a much better organized, well-informed thread to read.

There are a few mustang guys on here that are cool and aren't blind fanboys. It's all the other posters that just try to instigate shit that made it easy for the mods to just lump everything together because every thread was infested by trolls. I don't see anything wrong with what they did. I bet if we can police ourselves and report all the troll posts, keeping the threads clean and strictly informational, and not making duplicate threads, the mega thread would be dissolved and we could have a few different threads for different mustang topics so we could find information about specific things easier. Until all the trolls are gone (which I doubt they will ever be), I don't see the mega thread going away.

As for the mustang forums not being littered with Camaro information - when the Camaro was launched, it was at least as filled as this forum is with mustang information. That's what happens when you have an other cars section and your leading competitor was just revamped. I don't know what you expect.

Now for the IRS thing, I'm pretty sure everyone knows and agrees that IRS is an overall better design than SRA. The points that you see people make and extrapolate into the equivalent of murdering one of your family members, is that the current SRA in the mustang is not far behind a good IRS setup. With the handling abilities of the current mustang, you really can't argue that with any truth. Now, can I ask you, have you ever driven a '11 mustang? Why should your opinions and information be more valid than someone that has when you said yourself that it's stupid for people to be developing opinions and spreading information when they haven't even driven the vehicle in question?
I don't know who you're replying to in the first two paragraphs, but those aren't points I made.

As far as my opinion (or anyone's) being more valid than the next guy; it certainly is when they can demonstrate objectivity. For example, the IRS is certainly better over an uneven road than the SRA, in both performance and comfort. The SRA is better for launching on the track, and the Mustang's SRA is tuned well enough to be as good as the Camaros IRS on a clean track.

Now, I can name 1 poster I'd consider to be a Ford guy (Sax1031) who's acknowledged that the SRA is an advantage in a lot of situations. Most of the Mustang guys usually ignore it, or point to some controlled environment skid pad testing to say it amounts to the same thing. Anyone who has driven both cars can instantly tell the difference, and given that both cars are going to be on the street 99% of the time, not the track, whether you have an SRA or IRS will matter to almost every driver.

Getting back to my point, that means only 1 person I'd consider to be a Ford guy seems objective to me. That doesn't make the rest of you guys trolls or anything, but it also means you're not the "car enthusiasts" you claim to be. It makes you Ford fans on a Camaro forum. Do you belong here? Beats me, it's up to the mods. Do the majority of the Ford guys contribute to conversations on Camaro5? Only if the topic is the Ford Mustang.
