The mustang beat or equaled the m3 in 1/4 mile, 0-60, skid pad, figure 8 and braking. Further it was faster on the course with the MT driver at the wheel. Pretty good showing for ford. Gotta to assume that cai and tune along with 1500 or so in suspension mods and it would have done even better!

As for real world data how much more you want from me? Mustangs only advantage is weight what data you want from it? And only having weight as an advantage is pathetic anyway because once the competetion catches up weight wise what do you have left? Mustang- NOT LOOKS, Ford-Engines aren't impressive thats why at the drag strip you see more MUSTANGS with Chevy engines. Just keep your smug fanboy face because Chevy is about to knock you back in the face with more frowns like last year! Corvette ZR-1 fastest American Sports car, Camaro Z/28 fastest Muscle car! |

Wow this thread was an exhausting read. I was looking for a forum with good discussions on the awesome horsepower war that the big three is engaged in. Some people on here need to grow up. Blue Maro Demon, from reading your posts in this thread it is painfully obvious you have no mechanical knowledge what so ever. Turn some wrenches, go drag race your camaro (IF YOU GOT THE BALLS) The mustang fanboys need to chill out too, Ford has the edge....for now. I have been a GM fan for years and I love my camaro, but I respect other brands as well. Just my two cents.

This mega thread is silly. Just allow multiple threads in the other cars section and separate topics on actual separate discussion. Mashing all this together is simply confusing and jumbled. Anyone new to the discussion would have no idea what the topic is by reading the last 5 pages..

http://www.thedetroitbureau.com/2010...tang-boss-302/ Meanwhile, the maker plans to offer a track-ready version, dubbed the Boss 302 Laguna Seca – for the challenging track on the Monterey Peninsula – which will delete the back seat for even more weight savings and get a new, race-ready suspension. What’s unusual is the decision to go with hands-on shock adjustability, which requires the driver to use a flat-head screwdriver to turn an adjustment screw at the top of the shock tower. Ford engineers say they ditched more high-tech electronic controls to hold down the overall vehicle weight. http://www.egmcartech.com/2010/08/13...-boss-5-0l-v8/ "The model has been upgraded in nearly every aspect including engine output, brakes, suspension, interior and exterior all examined to optimize weight, aerodynamics and track performance." For example 11 pounds of sound deadening material was removed lowering weight. “The entire team at Ford felt the time was right and with the right ingredients, the world-class 2011 Mustang could support a successful, race-bred, worthy successor to the original Boss 302. For us that meant a production Mustang that could top one of the world’s best – the 2010 BMW M3 (the stock heavier premium trim 5.0 tied the M3 in a recent comparison) – in lap times at Laguna Seca. We met our expectations.” pony car to achieve more than 1.0 g of lateral acceleration. The Boss 302 Laguna Seca honors the track where Ford’s Parnelli Jones drove a Boss to victory in the 1970 Trans-Am season opener. The track-ready version will trade off creature comforts (seats removed for one thing), Ford officials acknowledge, but gain body stiffness, a firmer chassis set-up and aerodynamic enhancements borrowed from the new Boss 302R race car.
