LOL true ... but with the GT500, you get the built engine from the factory that can handle much more boost ... That is what I would look for in a Z28 ....

That being said, I do plan on putting a supercharger on the Camaro... I really look forward to doing a built engine though that can handle more boost and see some really nice numbers ..

I've been arguing this point from day one. I also agree that that 540-550 horse is pretty easy considering the facts that were state. I won't complain though - if I have to bolt a S/C to the car I will. Hey - you can't please everyone and that's what the aftermarket is all about How long are cars like these going to last though? Seriously. I'm sure people who love these cars and have the $$$ will continue to buy but I wonder if the perception of the public will have an influence on the manufacturer to either make or not make a car like this in the near future. I, personally, don't really think many people are willing to pay more for a hybrid car because it's good for the enviornment; only to save gas, for the most part. It's not like they're cheaper than, say, a Yaris, or something. Anyways, I wonder how long we're going to see cars like this grace our automotive options.

Great point. Instead of everyone on Ford/Mopar/GM forums bitching and moaning about each others car and arguing about tenths of a second,we should be excited and embrace these cars, flaws and all. C'mon,a 500HP Mustang,a 425HP Challenger and a 422HP SS................when i was in high school,300HP was a HUGE deal and now look at what we have. The GT hits 60 in 5 flat, a V6 Camaro has 300HP,there is not a dog in the bunch,we are living in the best pony car era ever. In the age of a Prius being a celebrity car,we should all be excited that Ford makes a 540HP GT500 or that you can get a 422HP Camaro for 30K. This isn't going to last forever.

This statement reminds me of that old saying; "Better to keep you mouth shut and let people think you are a fool than open your mouth and remove any doubt."

We don't even know if the 6M and rear end can hold up with 550HP in a Camaro.

I don't recall the numbers that were quoted, but I remember seeing see some numbers they said that went through that rear end without trouble. That tranny is stout enough for the ZR1, CTS-V, GT500, ?Viper?, etc., I think she'll take a pretty good amount of power.

Specs and pics of the 2010 GT500 have been released, and what I predicted (see above) is exactly what they did.

I agree that GM should make a Z28 to compete with the GT500. The LSA would put it at just the right horsepower levels.
