Funny stuff on 5.0..........not for the sensitive though

A friend from Ford sent this to me. I haven't seen it posted yet here.

Pretty funny stuff.

If the new 5.0 is anything like the old 5.0, there will be thousands throwing superchargers on.

I really hope gm can step it up and come back with similar s/c products for the camaro. it's now or never

The only reason 95% of mustang/challenger owners are registered on this site is to put down the camaro and or defend their car.

Maybe not openly and rudely...but to for some reason defend every post (that they deem worth responding to/threatening to their ballsack)made in favor of the camaro over the car of their choice. And then plenty are just open and rude.

It is really very childish and funny.

And I agree with hugger-orange. If you guys think you would get this far on a mustang site you are dreaming. I have never seen anything like camaro5 when it comes to trolls, mustang owners and negative comments.
LS1 tech was and has never been filled with this much crap.

It all comes down to jealousy. Why else would anyone waste their time? Are they on srt-4 websites defending the mustang (to this degree)? I dont think so.

They can say what they want but they are angry/jealous of the camaro and thats why most of them are here. Look at the BS and smile.

I didn't buy a Mustang, never would actually. I think the way Ford offers track pacs, and the likes is way more impressive than going aftermarket parts like you have to do for GM. Also, if you read the SC warranties, you better not have anything but STOCK parts on your car and never even think of modding it while you're under the SC warranty. Most of us are not in that category...so, it's kind-of worthless.

The Z28 will be that great, warrantied, car, but I can't do all that to my SS...not through GM, not as options, not with warranties...

I feel Ford is 1-up on GM in this regard, and I'm talking the mustang at this point since that's the direct competition to the Camaro...

I wasn't favoring one car over the other in my post which was simply about weight. It is obvious weight plays a role in 0-60 times. THe weight of a boxing heavyweight is the difference between the 5.0 and the SS as well as the SS when compared to the Challenger. I read and watched many reviews if not all of them from the big name review companies and yes many are Mustang or Ford biased, however on average all of them had similar faults with the Camaro SS in comparison to the new Mustang 5.0.

And since "comparisons" are what this thread is about, it is only fair to look at all the numbers done by all the review companies and come up with an average instead of only choosing the times that best suit our arguments. Finding the fastest recorded times for any of these vehicles stock vs stock or the slowest times as well is not being fair and balanced. Since there are many varibales which can account for different times and dyno numbers including the dyno calibration date itself.

With that said, all of the review sites that tested the Mustang 5.0 have said it was underrated by quite a bit. I don't remember the Camaro SS's LS3 being mentioned as being underrated. Most reviews at the time last year spoke about how the Camaro was tops in handling and times. Now the new 5.0 has surpassed the Camaro's handling and times and we have the musscle car wars all over again. I am thankful for that. The Camaro SS would not be the car it is today if it wasn't for the Mustang and the new 5.0 would not have been released if it wasn't for the SS beating the snot out of the 2010 Mustangs.. This review below is new and pretty fair to all the cars.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html

In that article the 5.0 got to 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. In comparison, the 2009 GT500 averages at 4.6 second 0-60.. Now that 4.4 may be an anomoly, however the impressive thing about the 5.0 is how close the speed is from 0-60 compared to the 2009 GT500 for a lot less money. Also, the handling is better on the 5.0 because it is lighter than the GT500 as well.

Like I said before, I don't know much about the older Camaro's and Mustangs, but I do know the new crash test safety regulations are what is making our cars heavier overall for the most part.. Those 4th gens are still light weights compared to the new SS and even the 5.0.. That is why when you see a modded 4th gen at the track, it may very well be faster than your new 2011 5.0 or SS..
Do you sleep with the motor trend mag at night?

You seem to know little about numbers from other sources and or the real world.

Now, I'm not a Ford guy, so most of my info comes from other Ford guys and the links and magazines they provide.

Here's what I read about the rods :
Connecting Rods
The connecting rods are forged from powdered metal and designed for reduced weight. The small end features a bronze bushing and full floating pin. With the 5.0 Liters center-to-center length the same as a 4.6-liter engine, we imagine the Manley H-beam type connecting rods found in the 2003-2004 Terminator Cobra would be an easy upgrade for this engine. Race engine builders looking to up the 5.0 liters power output past 600 hp should consider forged H-beam rod

That came from this write up on Stang TV == > http://www.stangtv.com/forum/new-5-0...eady-6957.html

I know for a fact I can push my internally stock LS3 to 600 tire horsepower without any inernal mods. GM is doing it right by providing you with a stellar foundation to build on. Yes the Camaro weighs 200 pounds more, but it's pretty easy to make that up right quick.

Both cars are proving to be stout starting points for the car lovers. I'm 41, and I can tell you this....if you had a 600 horsepower you were GOD. Fast forward to today and not only can you have insane horsepower lovers, but you can drive them anywhere and knock down 20 plus mpg...not to mention all the modern convience and safety features.

The bickering is tiresome and pointless, esp on a Chevrolet forum....ya see my point?

so far the coyote has lived to similar power levels.

AUTOMATIC CAR: 6 psi and ONLY 542 rwhp... http://www.youtube.com/user/Supercar.../0/BqARqDpKD_Q

600rwhp is probably near the limit of the coyote. you should expect that with similar rod designs. 6.2 - 5.0 rods are similar metallurgy.

fastlane turbo = 610rwhp/ 598 rwtq.

IMO the 2011 5.0 f-150 motor is the one to have. same basic setup, but 10.5:1 CR, more durable for heavy duty use, oil cooler, etc. boost that bad boy.
