people say the SS is a "muscle car" because maybe it doesn't handle as tightly as the mustang. But my thought is the SS is more GT. It has a great ride. There's sophistication to it the chassis. It's not just a big old dumb muscle car from the 60s. The engineer's found what they thought was a great happy medium for real world driving.

i can agree with that. Also, because these are pony cars. But youre right, the Camaro has more of a GT flavor with the IRS, lots of weight and power.

Was driving around the lots last night checking out new BMW's, Audi's, Merc's etc. mostly dreaming haha but i happened to stop by a ford dealer and they had about 6 2011 shelby GT-500's out and there was a black one with flat black stripes, and gunmetal grey wheels.... almost made my heart stop. I had to get out and look at it, it was beautiful haha but the sticker was $67,XXX so after taxes etc your looking at well over $70k and that's just too much for me. (keep in mind I live in canada, so the $'s in CDN)

honestly I think the 2011 GT is very nice, and had it been out when I was looking to buy my Camaro I would have had a much more difficult decision. That said, I don't regret my Camaro choice at all.

What kills me is that this z-28 is going to come out and be priced to compete with the Shelby. so it'll be about 70k. By that time I'll likely have supercharged my 1SS and have similar (or more) power an only be 50k deep. Just don't see the appeal to these cars when you can get the similar output for less money upgrading the base models. The same can be said for the shelby. It's beautiful, but i just can't justify the extra cash.

Just keep in mind with the Shelby, unlike the SS, it is designed to have boost, better internals, etc, whereas to really get that level from the Camaro you would have to spend decent $$$$ just to match that and then not have a warrantly like the Shelby.

How do you know the Z-28 won't have all those things you list about the Shelby? I'm not defending the Z-28, but at this point it is pure speculation that it won't have similar features.

hes probably basing his thoughts on what GM currently has out. Maybe theyll come out with a new original engine for the Z28 but that looks doubtful. Im guess theyre going LSA

I was referring to just boosting the SS. I am sure if they produce a blown Z28 the internals, driveline, etc will be designed for it and it will of course a full factory warranty.

Brembo brakes

Regarding the gearing, the quickest/fastest stock Mustang GT is an auto running the 3.15 gear on the base 18" wheels and tires.

Even with the stock 3.31 in the manual, it is more aggressively geared than the Camaro. The 3.73 just = wheelspin.
For the 1,600 you get Brembos on the front, the rears are
standard Ford items.
A neighbor just got one, by the way they are using
skip shift just like GM.
It is a GT premium with all options a little over 40 k
I was really impressed with the car as a whole, the 3:73
gear works I hate to say it but it seems to have more
kahoneys than my SS

The 2010 camaro was the first real omfg i have to have that car no matter what. I was driving a truck at the time and in no need to buy a toy until i seen this car in the T1 movie that was it for me. I sold my truck, sold some investments then drove 1400 km's to get this car. Its safe to say i really wanted it . I'm 39 years old and after 1 year of owning it i still go to the garage every day to check it out this car is sick. The mustang is just bleh too many around there like a pair of jean everyone has one. I wouldnt care if it had a gerbal running in a cage to make the new camaro move its a privledge to own one. The mustang doesn't get my blood flowing like this car not even close.

Dude i see more 2010 Camaros around here than 2010/2011 Mustangs combined.. This " I see more Mustangs than Camaros" is useless to use as a comparison.. You have to remember that the Camaro just came back. The Mustang never left. So if you're going to compare, at least compare year for year..

Im sorry man your seeing things from a skewed perspective. Texas is the number one state where the new 2010 camaro is going to atm. Come to Canada where its being built or many other parts of the US you dont see them any place but see 2010/2011 mustangs all over the place.

If you go by actual sales, there are roughly the same number of 2010/11 Camaros on the road as their are 2010/11 Mustangs. Roughly.

What you may or may not notice in your particular neck of the woods is rather irrelevant.

My friend is getting one too now. It is in shipping on a train somewhere. We will see how he does against my car, my car is modded though. I think w/ him being a mn6 from a 60 roll we will be pretty even, but from a dig diff story. However once he starts modding, who knows, pretty bad for me I suspect, good thing the blower is going on as soon as whipple will will ship the thing.
