Car and Driver: 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 - Road Test
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t500-road_test
Lurking in the background is another Ford Mustang that’s almost as fast, handles just as well, and costs a comforting 20 grand less. Unless you’re a complete Mustang nut who has to have the biggest of the breed in the garage, a (new) GT will give you most of what the Shelby offers. It’s a bit like the Cavs: Was it really a good idea to spend all that money to get Shaq?
So "Mr. Mustang nut", was it really worth paying $55-57,000 for a car that is a paltry 1/2 sec faster than an 11 GT or 10/11 SS?

C&D doesn't think so.

I tell you what, why don't you stop coming to these forums posing as an unbiased Mustang nut (I'm not buying it) and in return we'll stop pointing out how foolish your posts are. Deal?

Seriously, you must have reservations about spending almost 60k for just a Stang, otherwise, you wouldn't be on a 5th Gen Camaro forum in the first place ...

Pretty weird review, but I have to agree with a lot of what he says. I still don't get the heel to toe issue though .. I wear a size 10 and have no issues at all (even before the new pedals).

^Only an inept juvenile would compare post count to sensibility.

It seems with every absurd comment you make, you keep digging yourself into an intellectually deeper hole.

I'd say yes ... built engine from the factory and supercharged gives a lot more options at a bit smaller price tag for more HP ... I'm going to go out on a limb and say the same thing will be said of the Z/28 vs the SS .. the only problem is that GM isn't giving us the fully built engine from the factory ...

There is no doubt that GM and Ford are giving us cars that can perform for a pretty good price with the GT and the SS ... The GT500 can be had for under 50k I'm sure but you also give up some stuff ... Lets see what GM can do .. if they can price the Z/28 for starting at 45k or so, I think it will be the best bargain out of all of them.

Matt did not seem to like the car as a "driver's car". His dislikes were more than cosmetic, as he states "What we have learned here today is the Camaro as a cruising car and as a styling exercise is quite successful. It has all the elements there. As a driver’s car or track car, not at all." Nothing wrong with that, as the SS was not designed to compete with the Lotus in driver feel, although the SS does quite well on either a 1/4 mile or twisty track.

It's one guy's opinion.. all this arguing is over who wants to be kick in the nuts first the way I see it.. The guy didn't like the interior well that's no surprises allot of the complaints on the new Camaro are because of this.. I don't give a rats ass it suits me fine and about 100k + people who bought the car think so too. Most buy a car for transportation not to race so if you want a race car, buy one.... The fact the roof line is very much apart of the appeal to the car and why its so stunning. Gm didn't want to compromise so the flaw of the bind spots it something I'm willing to deal with... Every heard of Onstar .....The fact you can buy a radio head w/ nav and not have to have a dash mounted unit or Onstar is a non issue. Welcome to twenty first century... If you don't do your homework on the car your testing (2SS = V8 + 6m or 6a) I give you 0 credit... Opinions are like A holes very one got one.... This guy is just one of many opinions whether you like it or not..
