I haven't flown in a plane since I was 7, but i'm not afraid of 'em, no real reason to be, they're as safe as cars, so should I be afraid every time I get in a car too? lol

I can kinda understand flying in small airplanes (I'm a mechanic and even I was a little weirded out my first time in a 172) but now it's old hat. However flying in something like a 737 is like riding in a bus.

So apparently there are people out there with an inherent fear of buses?

I never had a fear before, and I flew all my life.

About 20 years a go, we had a bad, and scary experience, which is why to this day I am petrified. I still flew every year, even as the kids came into the picture. I even take Ativan, when I fly. Sometimes even 2 Ativans! However, I seem to be getting worse....not better!

You are so very funny my friend. I used to travel each week from Ohio to Westbury, LI, NY for work. Took off in some no name town on a plane so small you had to fold down your own seat - now, that's flying... Landed once in a snow storm with no front wheel, but thanks to the snow, we just skid off the runway. Bumpy, but I'm still here. Then Cleveland to LaGuardia - every week for 2-3 years (back in the 80's).

Ya, some airports are a PITA (pain in the Azz, Jo) - Atlanta is worst on my list. Tram for this, subway for that. But, it's great for people watching. OMG

But, I would fly anywhere in a new York minute if someone would pay the fare - it's expensive easpecially if two or more of you fly at a time.

Hour and a half layover here and then two hour flight and I'll be in Sac. Ready for a few beers after all this flying.

I was in Scottsdale, AZ. in the 80's. I loved it....still do.

I remember at the time we went to eat a restaurant at a hotel called

"Boulders", I believe.

Inside now but you could feel the heat when exiting the plane.
