That should be hard to do. I've seen regular 5.0s going for more than that, but of course those cars are loaded. Considering this car likely wont be based off a base model car, and it will have performance upgrades as well as cosmetic upgrades, I don't think it will be sold at under $40k.

GM would be wise to remember the phrase "jack of all trades, master of none".

If they were wise they would take a 1SS Camaro and make it into the Z28 with a DI 5.5L and make the Supercharged version the ZL1

Wow. Awesome package, Ford just placed a Big A$$ ball in GM's court. Can't wait to see what Gm has instore for 2012 Model year, there is alot of hype behind it.

Yeah I really REALLY! Want to see both a New Camaro Z/28 & a new Camaro ZL1 to beat both the Shelby GT500 & Boss! Hopefully we will have both Z'S but I wont be able to decide which I want in the future then lol. Either way I want a new Z Camaro I can drive in the next 5 to 6 years after when im ready to get another new Camaro.

Considering their trying to create one car (Z/28 SC) that can take out both the GT500 and the Boss 302..

If they pull it off, I will be massively impressed.

I don't think the GM faithful have any chance of seeing a new 'road course special' Camaro prior to the replacement of Zeta for the same reason Mother Mopar would have been well advised to have foregone the original Challenger T/A and Cuda AAR, they were just too big and heavy to effectively pull off the concept. Given the approach GM is taking with the Z/28 my guess is that they know it and I agree with their approach of building a 'Camaro ZR1'...it makes more sense given the car it's based upon.

GM could lighten up the Camaro (most likely a substantial amount)...but they probably won't :( From the article they only pulled 15lbs off of the Boss. Nice - yes, Astounding - no.

Ya know, it's ok they want to do a Boss, but Jesus H. Christopher! Those stripe packages have got to be the fugliest thing I've seen since the AMC Pacer stripe kits in the late 70s. Get that crap off the car, and it might at least LOOK ok. I truly hope that isn't standard fare for it. I can't look at that very long.

But...as Billy Joel might sing, "She may run like a banshee, but she's always a Mustang to me...."

I am by no means a ford fan but this is the coolest mustang since the '03 cobra. Ford needs some better wheel designers and what's with the Laguna Seca clown mobile?

That's because this is one of the first mustang threads in awhile where most of the people in the thread aren't trying to declare some form of superiority.

Here's the link from Ford Racing. I was hoping that GM would bring back the Z28 as a more bare bones, lighter car and give the SS the supercharged engine as an option.
