I couldn't even test drive an SS... part of the biggest regret in the past year. I bought the wrong car... shit happens.

That sir is a contradictory statement.

To say a "tad" is a overwhelming understatement. I know because I have owned both.

BTW - additional perspective to the OP here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99283

I think it is safe to say he may have looked at a GT500, had delusions of driving it, and posted about his "experience".

The camaro is a bad ass car. NO QUESTION!!! That said, Motor Trend, Road and Track, Automobile and Car and Driver all agree that the Mustang 5.0 is a better total package. Don't get me started on the Shelby.

I'm sure the new z28 will have world class performance. Very possibly surpassing the Shelby which I agree has too skinny tires. I can't wait to see the z28 and to hear the performance statistics. No doubt it will raise the bar for muscle cars much as the Shelby has for the last few years.

LOL.........I been having a lot of luck test driving lately. Yesterday I got a chance to test drive the space shuttle. It was a blast. I only got it into orbit once since the rocket boosters fell off (stupid NASA) and then I had to coast back into orbit. The interior had WAY too many buttons and it felt a little sluggish out the hole (maybe it had the 3.31 gears) but it had heaps of top end. Anyways I got my friend to take a pic of me doing a burnout when no one was looking. Here is a pic of me doing the burnout.

Regardless of performance, I just don't like the looks of the GT500. I guess it's just personal taste. It looks like an enlarged Hot Wheels car that was overdone to me. I'm sure they are fun to drive and all, but I just wouldn't spend $50K on something that looks like that no matter how fast it was, especially when the Z28 is due soon with similar performance and much better looks (at least to me).

This is why for mid 50k, I'll just buy a vette. Get a C6 or a Gran Sport, put down low 12's stock.......with manageable hp....problem solved...lol

For me, I need the extra two seats of the Shelby. To each their own.
