This thread is about a GM warranty issue.

Throwing the GT-R in here as a distraction is somewhat clever, but not valid.

They BOTH FAIL.

The GT-R is all-new, the C6 has been around since 2005 and is still loaded with long-term issues.

Corvette is also the funnest thing on the road, and worth the trouble, at a bargain price.

two problems I see

1. he's half honest with himself.

He tells the dealer where he was at and what he was doing. that's good.
But he denies he was racing during an HPDE class. which you have to go through before you can even race in NASA. . .hmmm. oh also read he had burned rubber on his wheel wells and a tow hook on the rear of his car...the tow hook is a requirement for nasa. . .lmao. he's in the wrong and he knows it. but everyone on that board is backing him up. blind as a bat I tell you.

2. wants others to pay for his screw up.

why not make someone else pay for what you screw up? I am right there with him on that. But, crying about it when they turn you down? WTF?

oh and Shadowsong. . .

Nissan gave them a button that they are suppose to be able to push and do that with. . .if they use that button they'll have to Get Transmission Replaced.

GM will not void your warranty if you drive your car a hard. BUT they will void it if you tell them you were on a track getting instruction on how to drive it like it's a race car. that's the problem.

Nissan says hey here's a button but don't use it. GM no button just use common sense.

no manufacturer is going to warranty something that was used on a racetrack... not Nissan, not GM, not Ford, not Toyota... NOBODY... the Corvette owner is just whining about the fact that he screwed his car up and then blaming GM for his problems by saying they wont fix it for free... if he had gone in there and told them that he was doing some "spirited driving" they'd have fixed it under warranty... I speak from experience, since my 2002 Z28 got a rear end replaced because of that same reason.

I'd like to sorta disagree with u. The op originally compared nissan and gm for warranty issues. That makes the gtr warranty issue a valid topic in this thread.

Now the discussion on weather it is a great performance car isn't. With that said. I still believe nissan screwed up installing a lc switch the owner can't use but 40 times.

The vette supposedly has a huge issue with oil starvation. If so y is this the first I have heard of it? Especially since the vette has been around for a while.

I'm not saying there isn't an issue. But I highly doubt it's as bad as has been made out.

gm should not honor his claim. Built up rubber and the other race oriented mods (tow ring, and seat/harness) shows he was abusing the car. Which voids any warranty.

I hear ya. There was GT-R mentioned by the OP.

And I agree the owner should have removed obvious signs of racing.

Why does that seem to be a bunch of individual, one-off problems?
Any car can have a list like that....

Then how about the 2004-2005 CTS-V rear-ends breaking. GM did'nt even have the launch button and still tried to claim the drivers were racing them and would refuse to cover them.

The only reason I STILL bought a Corvette is because of the AWESOME support and community on Corvette Forum.

Chevrolet sells something like 35,000 Corvettes a year, so sure there are going to be more instances

There's no list of issues this long on ANY Nissan.

Including the ones they build hundreds of thousands of units per year.
