I second the CTS-V suggestion.

If you can swing the M3, why not look at the V?

I don't want to swing 65k for a car...I am comfortable at 40k, I can go 45-48k and not be stressed, but 65k is out of my league...I'd be pushing it payment wise/trade wise etc

Sounds like your mind is already made up with the Jeep, 4 doors and all. Get the Jeep.

How is your SRT8 Chally?
I know what you mean about dealer demos, ultra low mileage returns, repos, etc... they all set off their own warnings to me... I think a 'Vette is a great car, with great performance for the price. I have driven well powered cars on ice, snow, etc when I lived in Wichita, Kansas... and I don't recommend it unless it has all four corners pulling...

I don't know what your best course of action would be right now. Buying any thing new with plans to trade it in two years is buying into a lot of depreciation if you go through with it. Have you thought about keeping the Camaro just a bit longer until the new (rumored) 500+ Jeep SRT8 comes out... whenever that will be. The predictions have been all over the place, from Nov 2010 to early 2012 (?!?). There have been sightings of camo'd 2011 GC SRT8s, based on hood bulges, etc under the camo... so it might be sooner than many expect.

Or, alternately, wait for the 2011 GC SRT8s to come out and pickup a clean earlier model from a motivated seller who has to have the latest model. BTW, have you looked at the wild Jeep SRT8 racing videos on YouTube? There are tons of videos of Jeep SRT8s running amazing quarter mile times and top end speeds (270-300 KPH (not MPH))... a lot are obviously modded, but there are stock ones as well.

I have been thoroughly pleased with my 2009 SRT8. It drives better than any vehicle that I have ever owned... in every category. Even now, with quite a few roaming the streets locally, the Challenger still gets a lot of attention... I think its looks and that distinctive exhaust tone draw the attention. It may not be the quickest of the three new musclecars, but it was exactly what I wanted... and waited over 30 years for Chrysler to build again. Excellent styling, great performance (Mid 13 Sec Quarters/160+ Top End/.90+ G Cornering), room for four adults, ample trunk space, and more amenities than I could ask for. Virtually everything is standard on the Challenger SRT8, leaving only four options to pick from for my 2009 TorRed Automatic car. I went with the F1 Supercar tires and the 6CD/13Spkr Sound system upgrade... I did not want the other two, the NAV/MyGiG (My Garmin works fine) or the Sunroof (don't want a hole in the roof, and can't give up the headroom).

I have owned the Challenger for 19 months now, and had my first problem with it two months ago. The dash start button for "Keyless-Go" did not start the car on a 100 degree day... turns out this is a known problem with a software flash fix. All I had to do was pop the start button out and use the key fob as a key to start the car.

If the new 6.4L Hemi Challenger SRT8 does have output of 500+ HP, I will have to find a way to buy one... likely by selling some of my old Mopars.

Have you considered looking on eBay? A lot of dealers advertise there... there are 14 Jeep SRTs on there now, including these 2010 models:

I checked local dealer inventory... no luck down here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area...

Big +1 to this, the CTS-V is a ridiculously nice car and, to paraphrase my fiance, they shouldn't be allowed to sell a car that insane under WOT. An absolute blast of a car. It wins on every level.

FYI, Jeeps get terrible mileage and you can't even tow with them.

Yeah its the cheapest option to load up a 2SS/RS with sunroof, HUD, etc...probably be 38 sticker, if I got it for 35ish + TTL at a good interest rate that would be the cheapest and easiest of any of these cars. I just worry that the 400hp L99 isnt the same as the 426hp LS3...I feel like the vette at least has the full out LS3 in auto. I'd worry about feeling like I am not getting enough power from the car coming off the LS1.

Also, anyone compare the seat comfort in Camaro vs a Vette? I didn't love how LOW I sat on the vette...is the new Camaro more "car like" seating?

got price quotes on vettes at local dealer, of COURSE they have basically nothing, so it has to be located or ordered...he wanted me to order, but im not waiting and I want the 0% incentive.

Looks like it's gonna be a 2LT with Auto 6 and not much else...most I can swing!

He wanted to sell me a 2SS/RS black with silver stripes they had right there...but I didnt get a price. didnt seem like it would be any discount or whatever.

Decisions decisions

I say go for the camaro you get more bang for your buck and its pretty roomy Im over 6 feet tall and Im very comfortable in my camaro. The only reason I see for you not to go with the camaro is you absolutely can't live without a 4-door car

You seem to be big on horsepower...So the Camaro looks like it might be good, same with the Jeep SRT8. But why buy that when the new, better one is right around the corner?
Either wait for the new ones (which, btw, will probably have insane markups and be very hard to find for at least a year after they hit dealerships)
Or, buy an EVO, a Subaru STI, Audi TTS, Audi S4, Audi S5, Corvette, Porsche Cayman, Lexus ISF, MB E550 Coupe, MB c63 Amg, or CTS-V.
