I hope you're not refering to me as a "TROLL". The SSC is not "my cause" but, I am a war Vet, retired military 23 years so I've earned the right to f'in "Chest thump". Nothing I said in my original post was improper or unintelligent...and if you feel a true American's remarks (with a college education) makes other Americans seem uneducated...thats your problem. The SSC Aero is a fine 8 Cylinder piece of technology and it is made here in the U.S.A. That is all I was trying to say....V8 get it...compared to a V16? I quess my last line of sarcasm in the first post flew way over your educated head??? I do voice my opinion strongly but I try hard not to belittle or berate others for their opinion. I also love F1 racing but after the start...its follow the leader....not much racing...the rules commitee needs to do something. If you want to be heard....don't make fun of or degrade others...it brings you to a lower level.
(USAF retiree defended this country from 1980 - 2003 and will do so until the day I die). Thumpin my chest!!!

Sorry one more point: you said "WW2 ended over 50 years ago, the Cold War over 20. We are a world culture and everyone seems to be getting along these days especially when it come to technology". Dude.....turn on the news....get real....no one is "getting along these days". schwooo!!!!
Since it's apparent you've never sat in either car, you've never researched either car beyond your magazine specs, or probably never even SEEN either car, you are a troll. Did the whole "it isn't a dedicated sports car" thing go over your head? The Veyron is an all-around package, and still beats the SSC Aero, which is only concerned with speed. It's pretty sad that a dedicated straight line dragster can't beat the all-rounder. As for your "16 cylinders lulz," you do realize Bugatti could get so much more hp out of that engine, but for what cause? They already are at the top in speed, and they are concerned with making a car that is a luxury jet on ground. The Aero, on the other hand, is an uncivilized dragster. It still has wheelspin in the triple digits (so much for stability and fine driving).
Xenophobia is a thing of the past. Get over it

Yes it was unintelligent since your rant was completely WRONG. Next time research or use google before you spew a bunch of WRONG information

Thanks for another laugh. Obviously you don't understand why they used a V-16. It is part of the appeal to the car. Sure they could have used a V8. They have used V8 engines as well as V12 engines before but the Veyron is on a completely different level than the older model Bugattis.

Bugatti has had an extraordinary history in racing. The very first race they ever entered they swept the top 4 positions. They have just as much "heritage" as you call it as any manufacturer to ever be involved in any type of motorsports. The Bugatti EB110 hit 216mph back in 1992. You just don't have a clue.

Wow you must live in a box... and its filled with Car magazines!

My "sidekicks" have answered you well enough. It seems you use your "war vet" status to try to make your opinion override the FACTS. The fastest production car in the world doesn't change from year to year, it changes when someone builds a new one. The Veyron was fastest for many years until the SSC came out. And now the new Veyron SS is still faster! Who cares how many cylinders it has? Do you measure your manhood by how many inches you are? Look at displacement, the Bugatti is only 1.65 liters bigger than the Aero.

Have you watched F1 in the past few years... have you watched NASCAR? Seriously?

Finally when it comes to technology and money, we all get along... you aren't really watching the news either.

Wow, you guys are so wise and I must be a moron....

Would I be wrong if I said this? : The SSC Aero is the fastest V8 production car in the world today and did hold the overall fastest production car title for about a year....it originally had a Chevy V8 with twin turbos (thus the reason for posting to a Chevy site). The Volkswagon design engineers did a fine job and made the Bugatti a world class automobile.

My saying anything else is pointless. You guys already know-it-all.

You're getting warmer........ You can praise something without the Xenophobic remarks. The SSC Aero is an amazing car and the second fastest car in the world. Maybe post a picture, or start a discussion about it. But coming in and trashing on the competition, especially when you seem to have done little research beyond a year old car magazine is where you're being called out on.

Little things like even though the Veyron has a bigger engine and twice as many turbos, it needs it because it also WEIGHS far more because it has a ton of luxury accouterments the SSC doesn't have. As well with a suspension thats adjustable to allow the car to ride like a Luxury car, while the Aero is little more than a street legal race car. Or the fact when you started talking about F1 manufacturers you include "ELF" which is a French oil company and has nothing to do with manufacturing F1 cars aside from providing oil and being a minor sponsor of the Renault team.

Nothing is better because it "just is" that may be your opinion but you post it as fact. Post some ACTUAL FACTS to back up your opinion and maybe people will respect your opinion instead of trashing on you.

And that has what to do with this discussion?

American inginuity...we can do more with less.....love it....live it....accept it...we are the best...and always will be....well, maybe...most of the time....sometimes....oh hell!...all the time!!!
Just wanted to repost my original comments for review.
Fact: SSC Aero was originally based on a Chevrolet V8.
Fact: it did beat out V12s and V16s from Europe, Bugatti, Koenigseg, McLaren, Ferrari and held the record from 2009 to 2010. Bugatti has since regained the top spot ( I did leave that out but, I thought everyone already knew).
Now say again....which facts should I get straight and where did I trash talk to deserve such a thrashing from all of you?
I was simply trying to show a little American pride that we are in the running again. In the service I travelled the World and hold a great respect for other cultures and customs. I'm not a Xenophobe, just a little politically incorrect...sorry about that....so stop the name-calling already!

Xenophobe: fear of foreigners: an intense fear or dislike of foreign people, their customs and culture, or foreign things
Jeez...my wife of 28 years is Korean....you couldn't be more wrong about me....LMAO!

I think the whole V12 V16 argument goes to shit when you see the big picture..

European V12 = 5.0 liters
American V8 = 7.0 liters..

The excess of pistons doesnt mean anything...
