The person that needs slapped is the one that will buy it at that cost. Like I said back when the camaro came out, don't blame it on the dealer. Blame it on the dumb ass that will pay for it. If know one will pay that price ,then they must bring the price down. So really , it's not the dealers fault.

I think Blur is as upset as I and maybe many others at the audacity of the dealer - the customer's ignorant enough to pay for it still deserves one, IMVHO.

Volt will be in demand, but then again so is the Dodge Caliber. How much demand is the question, and in "high demand" it will not be.

Just because GM makes it does not make it a market buster, and the public isnt starving for hybrids

Hard to believe there are people out there who will end up paying $60K for the Volt!

Its a cool car and I can appreciate the new technology, but that extra $20K they are charging would pay for a new Cruze when it comes out and it gets plenty good gas mileage if thats what you are looking for.

32+ years in business, and not one car sold over MSRP....That's how WE roll!

But the best thing of all, no one forces you to spend your money at dealerships that charge over MSRP.

I know what your saying ,but they must know that they can sell them for that or they wouldn't even try. You know the old saying. You have to make hay when the suns shinning. The market will decide were the price will fall pretty quickly. Just hope that these dealers get stuck with a few or end up selling them for a loss. I somehow don't think this will happen. Too many treehuggers out there these days thinking their're making the world a better place by buying a $40,000
car for $60,000.

They won't sell a single one, unless some celeb or other high profile figure wants it right now. Why? Well, let's be honest for a second. The targeted demographic of the Volt was supposed to be the middle class person with an environmental conscience. 41k was already pushing it for this demographic, and now you tell me 61k? Think about it; BMW M3, C63 AMG, CTS-V, Corvette Z06, or a Chevy Volt? For 99.9% of people, the choice is clear.

The key is that there are only going to be around 10k Volts for 2011 MY, and there are far more than 10k people interested in getting a Volt. In fact, GM upped the 2012 production by 15k units because of the response after the pricing was announced.

GM really needs to start clamping down on shady dealers. Having a no greater than MSRP policy is a good start.

There only has to be 1 person willing to pay it though. And very few who want a Volt would ever consider any of those cars you mentioned.
