As a person who works on the C17 program. It is said to hear about a tragedy like this. I do hope the investigation will find the cause of the crash and we (Boeing) can make the necessary changes so this does not happen again.
For the record, at this point it is not believed to be aircraft malfunction/defect, but rather a pilot error. RIP to the for service people involved.

I am ex ARMY. It is a sad day to say the least. Condolences to the family and friends of those who have fallen serving out great nation.
