I was looking at this one. The main thing that I want is super fast web browsing. I'm not going to stuff it full of pictures or songs (although I will transfer over a lot of files). But, the main thing is on the go surfing. Plus, I'm also planning on using it for work...doing documents and typing, etc.

This is the one that I saw at Sams...pretty nice. But, I really don't know the first thing about laptops...and am concerned about a warranty, etc.

I have an XPS M1530. Best computer I've ever owned. Both our laptops are Dells, my XPS M1530 and my parents' Inspiron 600m.

I've only had IBM laptops, it was a deal that came with my university. Anyway, the good thing about an IBM is that they are nearly indestructible. I've seen so many IBMs get pushed off desks or simply dropped and there has never been any problems. They are a bit behind in computing power though.

only one problem w/ dell computer - once it breaks (which it will) customer service wont' help you. I had three year warranty - they tried to get me to fix my own computer over the phone - they tried to get me to unscrew keyboard and back and go in and change wires around...it's ridiculous. The only company that has more lawsuits than DELL is Walmart.

...

I will never know who other people are talking to...I've had nothing but good experiences with Dell's customer service people.

My only problem with Dell is that it takes way too long to actually get the computer. My wife ordered one from them and a monthe later they told her that it was going to be another month... So we cancelled our order and bought an HP from Best Buy... instant gratification! And I love my Toshiba...
