we just got a tree today! God is quite awesome! for the past couple years, we haven't had the money to buy a tree (or replace all the broken decorations we had to throw out). we actually wrapped our camera tripod in TN Titans blankets and a string of lights! it was awesome & we all had fun with it. anyway - a couple weeks ago, mom was having lunch with one of her friends and off-handedly said something about not having stuff, and her friend emailed a few people she knew and today, they brought us a tree, some lights & ornaments, and even a ham! we are all just so blessed to have friends like this around. hope all y'all are having a wonderful weekend!

Sounds great, my mom wasn't happy when I said that we were gonna forgo the tree this year. So she went out and bought our first tree. It is now sitting a half inch from my ceiling, barely fits.

We bought a pre-lit tree from Sams Club last year. THE BEST investment I could have done when coming to a Christmas tree. Really...I personally prefer the real thing to a fake tree any day. But, with cats, kids, and the fact that it's not feasible for me to keep it all together when I'm not here, we just went the fake tree route.

We searched probably about 7 or 8 stores..maybe more. Sam's had the best deal. It was $199 well ahead of Christmas. Then, we finally did the deed, but two days later, it dropped down to $149. Since the sale was within two weeks, they gave us the difference back. Of course, after Christmas???...my mother in law got it for $50. Nice...grrr....

But, my advice is to just bite the bullet and get a pre-lit/wired fake tree and use that year in year out. It's great.
