Don't wrtieoff the good old 3.4L. Mine does a 15.8 quarter...not bad for a car that got 38 mpg on the last tank. I bet I can get 250,000 or more miles out of it too.

I let the battery run down once shortly after I got the car, no clue what the previous owner had done. So replacing a 5 year old battery didn't seem too odd, a little soon but reasonable given the fact it had died at least once. Replacing a 9 month old battery on the other hand ... slightly different. Seems like it was just a defective unit. Though I'll still probably take my car to my brothers shop just so he can make sure that I don't have a screwy alternator or something.

The 3400 (and its relatives) was good for what it was, but its far from the best V6 GM's ever built. Its enough to get the tires to make some noise and turn on the 'low traction' light (on dry pavement no less!). And yeah, the fuel economy is pretty good too. It was on par with the 4 bangers before they went to EcoTec's in the GA, but with more power and a lot more torque.

I guess I agree. The 3.4 does good on the low end, but it noticeably runs out of breath above 5000. (I think my car's peak hp comes at a low 4800RPM).

Too bad they didn't have anything like the Camaro's V6 at the time. Could you image that in a Grand Am?

Sooo I really want the pair of Nike shoes I saw now when I was shopping on Sunday. Soo I called another Nike Store and they only have a size 8 I'm guessing I will be looking online for them now even though it might cost me a few extra dollars.
