Yes, you have a point, but the thing is, you can't JUSTIFY speeding when it isn't a life/death situation. Which some people try to do.

It's not about ever doing it and not getting caught, or even getting caught. The point is, it is ILLEGAL to drive faster than the posted speed zone. You have all the controls to speed or not, that choice is yours. So you have nobody to blame but yourself. Of course nothing is illegal until you get caught as the saying goes. But you run the risk of bad things happening every time you do, regardless if you get tagged or not.

My beef is with the whining and crying that comes along when people DO get a ticket for speeding and then try to act like "well, I wasn't hurting anyone..." Perhaps not today, hopefully never, but there may be a day. Grow up and get some responsibility for your own actions, and maybe I can put my little "thumb" violin away when I see these kinds of posts.

It just amazes me how much time and energy and $$ people try to spend to keep from getting a ticket or trying to reduce fines, etc. in court, when all they had to do was take their foot off the gas and save a lot of headache and hassle for everyone. I'm not kidding myself thinking everyone will heed that advice, but think outside the box before you speed on the roadways.

I have driven upwards to 140-150mph on the Interstate before in clear road for miles upon miles with another car right next to me. I've driven through traffic with about 10 cars going upwards to 120mph on the interstate too (we had a caravan going, a TT tiburon, a GT, an alpine bmw, and a couple other cars - all nice). It's stupid, but it happens and we will all do it. I'm not saying GJ OP, all I'm saying is everyone that gets on here and looks down on him for it should stfu and get off their high horses. They've all done it. If you haven't sped in this car just sell it and buy yourself a scooter.

Every single person speeds. I know not one person on these forums have followed their precious "posted" speed limits. Give the guy a break. He got caught going very fast, and know is going to face the consequences. He learned his lesson. Doesn't need internet camaro police to tell him he's a bad person who kills babies and innocent families.

But I can tell you those days for me are over! I've never been paranoid to speed

There's been all of maybe two or three people here that have said they have gone that fast before. No one has been chastising him because he was speeding... they're doing it because he was absolutely reckless about it. He got caught at far less than he was actually doing, and drove past the population (not in BFE).

No one is on a high horse... they're just being real about this. I can say absolutely without a doubt that I've never gone that fast before. That's just silly. There's a reason my dashboard says "Average Speed: 23.5mph".

If the fine is over a certain amount just get a lawyer to take care of it for you. They have their ways of getting people off and sometimes they cost about the same as the ticket without the insurance spike.

When driving like an IDIOT kills someone, you will not only spend time in prison, but will have to live with it for the rest of your life! I only hope your stupidity does not kill a van loaded down with a soccer mom and 5 kids...

It's that question of judgment that obviously eludes you. I occasionally speed but would never ever ever run 120MPH in traffic on an Interstate or do over 100MPH in a 45MPH zone. I'm done...you just don't get it.

Nothing you tell him will convince him otherwise. Obviously I MUST be one of those reckless drivers like him. I mean, EVERYONE who posts here speeds. Generalizations like that are about as asinine as driving that fast. Except of course you're not likely to kill someone by spewing nonsense out of your mouth (or typing).

I agreed with your previous comments until you said 140+. We ALL don't do 100. Most of us can get our fix at the track. Do I do 10, 15, 20 over...yea...now that something we have all done....

The original poster is NOT a bad person for doing 90-100. He made a mistake and learned from it...however you....you doing 140-150 through traffic where families are sure to be in close proximity is just being a flat out asshole..period
