Most of us have not done that! Regardless of current or past cars. In Georgia if you were headed there they have a super speeder law now.

From the law...

How much higher? The new law titled HB160 tacks-on another two-hundred-dollar state-fee for any driver convicted of speeding at 75-or-more on any two-lane roads.. OR convicted of speeding at 85-and-over anywhere in Georgia. Those new state fees will be in addition to any local fines already in effect in the jurisdiction where the speeding offense occurs.

Who is a SuperSpeeder? Under the provisions of this new Georgia law, any driver convicted of violating HB160 will now be classified by the state as a ‘Super Speeder’ and subject to an additional fee. The new ‘SuperSpeeder Law’ is designed to get tough on high-risk drivers who’ve been endangering other motorists and ignoring warnings to slow down. On average, there’s a speed-related death-a-day in Georgia!

The ‘SuperSpeeder Law’ established the new state fees to help police put the brakes on Georgia’s dangerous and illegal speeders. Failure to pay the ‘SuperSpeeder’ fee results in an additional $50.00 fee and the suspension of the offender’s driving privileges and license. ‘SuperSpeeder’ is a highway safety law designed to save lives on our roads by changing the way illegal speeders drive in Georgia... by slowing them down within legal limits.

And these new fees will save lives another way. Fees collected under the new ‘SuperSpeeder Law’ will be used to help fund Georgia’s trauma care hospital system where approximately sixty-percent of all trauma-care-patients are crash-related. Now for the first time, ‘SuperSpeeders’ will help pay for the hospital beds where their crash-victims are being treated.

so your saying you have never broken the speed limit?

hell im not very good at driving my new ss m6.. I was learning how to downshift properly to pass ppl at about 55 mph and wound up going 110 in a 55 in a matter of seconds. Felt like I was only going about 70 mph. I have more issues with minivans pulling out in front of me in a 55 mph speed zone than some guy on a county rd doing 100. (but maybe some ppl on this thread arent from an area where there are county roads that you can drive on and not pass another single car for a half hour.

People with children in the car typically think much differently....regardless of where this occurs.

Life doesn't seem to really come into prespective until you have kids. We have all done it....but I look back on those days and thank God I did not kill myself or someone else.

People don't seem to look at it in reality. You are doing 110 on an open road and a deer or possum runs out on the road. You make one slight check to avoid and that could be it for you....it isn't worth it, I've seen it, I've seen the families affected....the poster, you, AND I have no business or good excuse for doing it. Period...

Tracks are blast..many just don't care to take the extra time to drive there

I was pulling 150 the other nite in a 55 although the road should be 65. Nothing but farmland for miles......its not about how fast you are going but more where you are doing it.

I call BS on people saying they don't speed.... Before this happened I actually had this old man trying to race me on highway and I swear he passed me doing at least 150. It's not about how, what, when, or where your speeding... It's when you get caught. I think those who say they don't speed like that just hasn't got caught yet. But I can tell you those days for me are over! I've never been paranoid to speed

I love how everyone here is such an angel and has never done a pull on an open road.

Get off your damn high horses. The only difference between most of you and the OP is that he got caught and y'all didn't.

If you can't see the difference in a hard pull on an on ramp and getting all over it in a 45 MPH zone, then that might explain why you keep wrecking your cars.

I have emassed 6 tickets since I got my license in 1993. One was for going through a red light and the other 5 were for speeding at any various amount between 10-20 over the limit. I don't think the majority of police will pull anyone over for less than 10 over.

But wow - going 100 even on the freeway is pretty dog gone fast..... but fun as hell, not that I would know

Everyone speeds at some points but what kinda bothers me is when we mash the pedal and get caught , some always want to blame the Police??????? It's not their fault that we mashed it, I'm Just saying

It's a question of judgment...something you either have or you don't have. Best thing is you can't buy it with any amount of money.

Ouch. You were headed to a drag event where you can safely run all out but decided to do it on that way on a 45 mph public road. Not smart. Be thankful no one got killed. Take your beating from the judge and remember this lesson.
