Well what was the actual speed they put on your ticket?? Was it 94? If so you are really screwed. Fine will be $500-1000 and they wont show you any mercy. The other guy above that got an attorney did the smart thing in this case and I advise you to do the same and not go it alone. You certainly are NOT going to get off the hook easily.

I got one for 106 in a 70.

Trooper wrote it for same as 71 in a 70.

Conditions have everything to do with it. Even the judge may agree.
Just state your case and squint.

In my area that would jet jail time to serve, 5 days most likely. However, your history and attitude both in court and on the roadside has a factor in the end result.

Get a lawyer. I have had a lot of tickets dismiss and drastically reduced by lawyers..

From one tampa gulf coast member to another.....

You gotta look at the positive side of every situation. A ticket in this situation is positive...because next time you will be dead or you will kill someones child, get 15 years, and as big willy is pounding your rear in prison you will wish you were dead.

As a law enforcement officer, I am much like the cop that stopped you. I understand we are all human and we have days (especially in this car) where we hit it hard. Regardless you will get a ticket....I've gone to court on everything from 90 in a 55 to 147 in a 55.

The judge will not be happy...you have a .001% chance of getting off on this one. In Florida you would face approximately $600 fines and Two days in person in traffic school.....With or without a lawyer. The absolute minimum would be $400 with no traffic courses, but I very rarely see that occur. Most judges don't have open minds with speeds of this degree, even with legal representation. Now if you were doing 10 over I would say a lawyer could easily get you to walk away from that..

With all due respect man...it should be out of your system now as far as public streets go, take it to a track, and don't ever do that again. Lastly, I am telling you we have a database in Florida where I can pull up any previous citation and what it was for, If a cop gets you again doing 90+ you will be arrested.

Sorry, that's not speeding, it's reckless. Hope it doesn't cost too much.

In Ohio if you double the speed limit you lose your license. Going 20+ over will be reckless opperation.

your only chance is gone, I'd say. The cop could have knocked it down a bit when he wrote it up. Since he didn't....

I can relate--many years ago I was going to drag race my car and was speeding and got a ticket too! 150km/h in a 100km zone. He took 10km off. $200 fine--at the time.

Here in the U.S. cops aren't supposed to do that. Some departments they can get fired for it. The attorney who handles the case and the judge are really the only ones who can "bring down" a ticket. Don't ever expect that from a police officer especially here.
