I do miss my first car. It was a red 1975 MGB. My Dad's first collector car was a 1976 Triumph TR-6 so I wanted a little British sports car as well. We used to drive them all over the place together. We attended shows, drove down old Route 66 and I even got to drive it at Road America. It was really slow but it was a fun little car. my Dad still has his TR-6 but the MGB was sold along with a 1986 RX-7 in 1996 in order to buy my 1971 Z28 RS which I had lusted for my entire life. The rest is Camaro history.
By the way, my Dad's first new car was a Golden Brown 1972 Camaro with a 307 V8/Auto. He put over 100,000 miles on it and traded it in on a new 1981 Grand Prix. He mended his ways in 1994 when he bought a new 1994 Z28 which he says he'll never get rid of. I know for a fact that he wishes he still had that 1972. |

Went with option 1.
It was a 73' Z-28 and I LOVED it. Biggest POS I've ever had. Buned oil so bad I had to keep sandpaper in the car and clean the spark plugs off every other day, but it was fast considering. Green with black interior. Rattled like hell. But it was MINE.................... nuff said...... lol |

It was a 95 Blazer LT with all the goodies....and guess what...half of them didn't work. The Transfer case only worked if you disconnected the battery to reset the ECU. The A/C didn't work. The Driver's rear window didn't work. The passenger rear door speaker stopped working. The Exhaust fell off right before the muffler, the fuel pump went out, and it was absolutely miserable on gas. Sure it looked cool and having a big SUV in highschool certainly accounted for some "cool points"...but seriously...all those things went wrong in less than a year and a half of ownership.
Ironically 2 years ago I bought a 2001 Blazer that I had owned for about a year...and every one of the same problems went wrong with that one (except the window thing). Thank God that pile of shit is out of GM's lineup so I can't make that mistake a 3rd time ha ha. Seriously...the 4.3 Vortec was a fantastic motor...but everything they strapped to and around it sucked monkey sack.

My first car, last year of High School, was a '65 (Canadian) Pontiac Parisienne Convertible, 327/300 with Powerglide, 5 years old with 60,000 miles...with a SEVEN DAY WARRANTY... On the eighth day, I swear, the Powerglide started slipping...Low Range ONLY, eventually... Drove it for 6 months, urban/suburban, with a final top speed of 65 mph.
Traded it even-up for a '66 Beetle...with a Porsche Super 90 engine poked/stroked/tweaked to about 200hp...that was a true "sleeper" that terrorized many a "muscle car"...ran an off-the-street 14.8, something the "Chief" could only dream about... Did/do I miss the Pontiac? Not hardly... |

1970 Ford LTD, 390 4 barrel, could pass everything but a gas station, not missed.

My first car was a 4-cylinder 1994 Toyota 4Runner, passed down to me from my father, and I do miss it sometimes.

I sure would like to see that 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk! What a great car that was, the dashboard was filled with toggle switches.
