I hope this boy is alright. This happen in my small town

Engine hoist falls on 5-year-old Yelm-area boy

Medics were in the process of airlifting a 5-year-old boy to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital today after a 200-pound engine hoist fell on his stomach at an address in the 16000 block of Kalmia Court Southeast near Yelm.

The incident that injured the child occurred at 3:47 p.m. As of about 4:30 p.m., a helicopter was headed to the area of Yelm Middle School to meet the medics who had transported the injured boy there, said Southeast Thurston Fire Authority Chief Rita Hutcheson.

Hutcheson said the boy was complaining of "belly pain" and preliminary indications are that his injuries may be life-threatening.

Hutcheson said it appears that the incident was an accident, but sheriff's investigators will be called to the scene.

how does an engine hoist fall on someone? thats sad to hear anyways. was it this kind of hoist?

around here, alot of engine Hoists are two trees with a heavy chain around them.

just saw this on one of the news channels & thought it would give you guys an update.

My heart adopted grandbaby went thru almost 3 hrs surgery to clear a blood clot stopping the flow of blood to his intestines, he is in ICU and doing ok. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, he was just being himself, I assume, playing Spiderman, it happened in an instant. Please don't condemn his parents, pray for him and them
