After looking briefly, I see that it has over 700 hp and torque to the wheels. And aperently, a Nascar spec roll cage. Among other things.

drive wheels are in the front, when a vehicle accelerates the weight shifts to the rear. a front wing would compensate for that, allowing more constant traction on the front wheels.

This isn't some rice rocket we're looking at here, this is a purpose built time attack car.

I think there's a valuable lesson to be learned here. It has nothing to do with the respectable performance or the legitimacy of this car. There's a point when she's so ugly that it doesn't matter how good she is in bed. This car clearly demonstrates that a FWD vehicle needs serious revision to get to a this performance level such that it becomes preposterously ugly when all the pieces are in place. I don't care if it's this fast. This car is ugly, and I'd be embarassed to be seen behind that wheel, even if I just won a trophy.

What do you think they make paper bags for? One on her head, one on your head (in case the unthinkable happens and hers should happen to fall off), go to town.

I'd drive a neon pink cardboard box shaped like a new beetle if it'd get me across the line first. They can figure out how to make it look good later, and use that prize money to do it. The proof of concept worked fine.

(1) Read that very carefully. First off, the word "Apparently" would lead me to believe the writer doesn't know if thing is fast or not.

(2)
"fastest lap time ever recorded by a FWD vehicle" Which means it cant come close to a real car with rear wheel drive.

Chris Rado also has a Front Wheel Drive TC (back ground in 1st photos) that ran a 6.87 @ 197 MPH quarter mile at button willow

I've seen that car in person, it's the only import that I have respect for. That is one MEAN car, it's got 1000+ ponies under there, it goes pretty darn quick.

I helped him out with the graphics on that vehicle ..It does really well for a time attack car..The wing was also designed by a Aerospace engineer and tested in the wind-tunnel as well.

Without it the front end gets cornering lift..Oh wait most people here do not do Time Attack runs...This car isn't a street car, its a track vehicle....
1:22.623 Is pretty darn fast as well. My buddy's modded M5 was only able to get a 1:36.XX...

i love how all of you are haters on this scion.

i know chris personally cause i have done many scion shows and events. the guy is great and i asked lots of questions. lol

so besides that i know how some people laugh at that wing, but did you also know the scion stock weighs 2800 lbs can you imagine how much his weighs? so he figured a great way to put the front wheels to the ground so he can make those turns. and also FWD is not a weaker car of rear wheel for some one who stated that.

also for the scions he owns are both STOCK blocks just fully built. in which i mean is that the engine he has comes with the scion its not a swap. i also found out from ken guchi who is a drifter said that the stock block is a beast, he is putting 22lbs of boost and the car is not running at full potential, that it will take more. ok back to chris's car. chris rados drag car puts out 1500hp ( boosted high)and also both his cars for the groups he races in are the FASTEST. he is not trying to look cool this is all for performance. also fwd cars can also use wings in the rear for cornering at high speeds to help the light weight rear end stick to the ground.

i am not a pro racer i know people on here are, i was smash talking my own car with the wing on it to ali who is the pro subaru drag and street racer who interupted me and explained what i just said above.

ok so flame me now.

Bet it goes super fast in reverse.

Cool that it can play the way it does, but geeeeez...

Its like saying that tight rolling your pants is cool.. or skinny jeans look good on men with large thighs.. or on men in general...

Not cool. not matter how fast it is.. not cool man.
