Wagoner drove the volt.... kind of. haha he drove their entire eco-line. Here's a vid of him pulling up, can only see the roof of the car, but you can hear him talk about it. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001...51928#28051928 Last edited by MerlinZero; 12-04-2008 at 01:18 PM. So that Malibu was a volt mule?
Out of all the CEO's and MGMT's I like GM's current the most compared to Ford and Junkler. |

Hard for me to read that. It should say "Dale Jr and GM CEO do burnouts with stabilitrak disabled in a LT - RS" Dale says "GM's use of direct injection and gives the v6 good mileage and clean emissions".
That's what it should of said ![]() That's my fantasy anyway. |

I don't see GM getting the money until their plan has some executives being fired.

Stout I'm thinking you're right, I thought it came out last time they went to congress. The only way GM was getting money, was if Wagoner stepped down.

^^ I agree as well. Plus I think its time for new management at GM. Keep the old experience guys who contribute and let some make GM profitable.

What person who has worked so hard to get to an executive position is going to jump into an extremely hard job, and only work for 1 dollar a year (if that actually happens) GM will not be able to find a good ceo for that salary.

A CEO does not depend on salary. They get a percentage of stock added to their portfolio and they sell a percentage as income every year. They have a maximum percentage every year that they can sell according to the IRS.
Because you know, if a CEO sells his entire stock in the company and the company tanks, he goes strait to jail. Thats how a CEO makes their money, they don't care about 1$ salaries, as a matter of fact most CEOs make that salary. This is nothing new, alothough he should have had this salary from the beginning. As an example, Bill Gates has had a 1$ salary for years. |

Also if I remember correctly, I think it was Rick Wagner who changed GM from crappy cars like that old Cadillac they sold in the 80's that looked like garbage, to the now more higher quality cars like the CTS.
He has changed the perception from bad to good, he had done a better job than the older CEOs of the company. |

If they offered me the GM CEO job for $1 a year I'd take it. A lot of people would, bad economy or not he's still very very rich.

You are exactly correct. NOW, if things don't start getting better under his leadership, then they might have a reason to have an issue with him. You have to go through a few growing pains to go from low quality, to what is now coming from GM. I don't know how long that process should have been, but he needs to start the up swing. It's kinda like football reoganizations. Once a head coach and GM are replaced due to lack of performance over a period of time, it NORMALLY takes a year or two to get the team back winning, there are a few exceptions to this, but we are also talking about a sport and not MASS PRODUCTION of quality vehicles.

I think it's good he showed up in that car. For one, I think it shows how serious GM is in making a super-fuel-efficient car and how close they are getting to have one read.
Good call!!!
