Why...have you sat in it?

Almost EVERYTHING (with the exception of the guage bezels, etc) is soft, high-quality materials...you'd be hard pressed to find anything that feels cheap.

+1
Even with the unfinished door panels in the IVER I thought the Camaro interior was very comfy and well laid out.

Thanks. Actually, it is a 10 second car, running a best 10.67@131.6mph just a couple of week ago. It could be a few tenths quicker, too, if it only had the driver mod. The best thing about it is that the car is stock other than:

KB Stage III kit (2.8 blower, MAF, throttle body and boost-a-pump)
3.73 gears
265/40-18 M/T drag radials

On topic, I had an opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a 2010 Mustang this past weekend and it is definitely nicer both in layout and materials than the '05-'09 cars.

Yes some people have told me that so what I will likely do is sell my Z28 next year instead of putting all that money in it and buy a new SS though I wish they had a new Z28 , you can always hope , if I put 10K+ in the SS that car should be AWESOME does anyone know if the SS will be able to handle 800+ RW Hp ???

the mustang has the same "soft" materials on the dash plus it doesn't have plasticy gauges and radio/hvac controls. touchscreen navigation is also an option, as is dual climate control.

As I sat in the mustang the dash seemed well laid out and the nav screen dominated the center dash as most nav screens do. The thing I really didn't like was the look and quality of the knobs that were on the dash, looked and felt cheap, as did the feel of the arm rest and door panel. The seat also felt flat and uncomfortable. As I said previous there were several people around the car that were talking about the same thing, I may have come in with a group of overly critical people but if others felt the same way as I did it would be a deal breaker from them as it was for myself. I do hope that other models do not suffer from these observations as I think the exterior looks better than the previous model. I did not sit in the camaro but I could see most of it, and from what I saw it did look good, didn't particularly like the placement of the brake handle, over on the passenger side, but I chalk that up to personal tastes. The seat looks comfortable but without sitting in it I really can't say.

yes. i am basing my opinion on what i've seen having not sat in the car (but have seen it in person). if/when i do sit in the car and the following:

is not as plasticy and, in my opinion, tacky as it appears then i will probably change my opinion

The car is not stock, for sure, and it was never my intention of considering it as such. I made that statement to point out that there is still a ton of potential in the car beyond where it sits today. No doubt longtubes, aftermarket exhaust, suspension upgrades, an upgraded intercooler, etc. could produce considerably more power and better times without ever having to delve into the motor internals.

This is why I have a hard time with people who say the GT500 is not "worth the money" at it's $43K base msrp. Find me another production car made in the last two years with four seats, a 3900 curb weight and a navigation system that, with less than $6000 in mods, can put down mid-10's/134mph times for less than $50K.

I'd say she's worth it considering most pick-up trucks and big SUV's go for around 40K these days,a 500HP car for the same price as a loaded crewcab Ram is pretty sweet.
I could watch the opening scene from 'I am Legend' over and over and over. Now all we need is a Z28 to have a good fight between the two. Why can Cadillac get the supercharged ZR1 engine and the Camaro cannot?? Unless GM is saving it for a 2nd or 3rd year sales boost? I hope,i hope.

Well 50k is alot if all your worried about is speed.

Ive got a friend who's got a 2007 mini cooper, and has it pushing 475hp to the wheels.

he's got 4 seats, Nav, and has spent less than your car's MSRP. Somewhere in the high 30's low 40's area.

he runs low tens. and gets good milage.

i never realized how much potential they had, i'd figured they had already tried to squeeze out every horse they could. great car, but out of my $$ range

Gator- the mini still doesn't have the good looks i applaud the performance tho
