Wal-Mart worker dies after shoppers knock him down

Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) -- A Wal-Mart worker was killed Friday when "out-of-control" shoppers desperate for bargains broke down the doors at a 5 a.m. sale. Other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue the man, and customers shouted angrily and kept shopping when store officials said they were closing because of the death, police and witnesses said.

At least four other people, including a woman who was eight months pregnant, were taken to hospitals for observation or minor injuries, and the store in Valley Stream on Long Island closed for several hours before reopening.

Shoppers stepped over the man on the ground and streamed into the store. When told to leave, they complained that they had been in line since Thursday morning.

Evidently, people were asked to leave the scene when the worker was found dead. They said that they had been waiting since the day before and kept shopping.

I'm disgusted by the classlessness exhibited by my fellow Americans today.

watch and listen the video in this link of someone who fimed the resusitation attempt of the worker. There are people laughing in the video to a comment made about where they could buy CPR.. Those poepl emake me sick.. They have no respect for human life and could care less about anything or anyone but themselves.. This makes me sooooo angry...

You figure that Wal-Mart and other stores would learn by now. You give everyone tickets as soon as they show up which guarantees their spot. Then they can go be ack to their cars and wait until their number range is called to enter the store. It stops people from going all crazy.

Too bad some of the shoppers didn't get trampled. Anyone who steps on a worker and then complains about the store closing deserves the same treatment. Idiots.
