Let's get something straight. Any function that draws any group of people can have this happen. It doesn't matter that a rapper hosted the function. It does matter that the location fails to properly equip security. That is why this happens all of the time. Until hostile individuals are repressed, they will frequent places that allow them to pick fights. This happens at every public venue from the urban centers of America to the rural areas. This time, it was a rapper, but it could just as easily be a bunch of white country club rich people next time. Don't make a race issue when it's really a security issue. Sketchy people will go to places that allow them to be sketchy, and this case is just an example of a bunch of violent people congregating in one place for a function. If that function kept the fight under control, then it wouldn't be an opportunity for racist people to blame a racial or ethnic group.

then why ain't calling people "white" racist. shouldn't it be "European-American" or something? i'm half white/half black and couldn't care less what people call me. most of the black people i know, including my dad's whole family & my sister's fiancé, call themselves "black", so i don't really see what the big deal is other than some people just being ornery and trying to start crap about it. and like Blur said... the issue at your mall is about rowdy people being allowed to act out. it can happen at any place with any group of people.

Its the mall's responsibility to provide adequate security for the safety of the employees as well as those in attendance. In Hawai'i there are regulations concerning any type of public gathering, there is a set amount of armed off-duty police for a certain amount of people. These off-duty officers are hired by whoever is putting on the event and keep things in check. That is something that your city counsel should look into if it is not already in the books. I was in Vegas at a Reggae performance couple of years ago and a fight broke out, cops were there in a minute, shut down the strip (It was said that that was the first time that that ever happened), the primary participants of the fight were all Polynesians like me, the focus should not be on the people but the act that was done.

I can guarantee you that's the minority population, and/or it's because of the usage of the word. It's possible to make anything sound racist. But anyway....how about them Lions?
