No it's not "real". This is just a pitch by a director hoping WB would pick up the tab and allow him to film his vision of Mortal Kombat.

Since WB has finished filming the Harry Potter series, they are looking for another movie to start making and are really wanting a series of movies. Imo WB will not pick up MK or at least not anytime soon because a few other possibilities that I know they have seriously looked at are all things the whole family can sit down and watch. WB is also looking at Dragonlance and when WB approached Marget and Tracy about it, WB specifically said they are wanting their next project to be family oriented, something MK most definitely is not.

I would love to see someone attempt to make a movie saga from Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

Of course the WB wan'ts another cash cow family movie like HP but its not gonna happen.

Look at all the copy cat tries done by other studio's

Success like that doesn't come in batches, but years apart.

Unless your Pixar

That stuff is so played out, dunno how its still going but ever since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" them teen vamp drama's keep snowballing into bigger n bigger ones. But also just shows how brain dead the teen age gen is, they can't see past the made up paid for marketing that fools them into thinking its hip n trendy.

Exactly! Some things just need to be put out to pasture. I'll admit that I love HP because I thought the books were original and I've always liked magic. I even enjoy the Narnia movies even though I feel they fall short of the books but at least it's an ORIGINAL idea. Usually I'll give most movies a chance, but I told my fiance' that no Twilight movies will ever be played in my DVD player as long as I'm present.

I didn't say they was looking for HP like movies, just movies that the whole family can sit down and watch, there's a difference.

And I agree with the copy cat comment.

Oh no it wasn't, it was a lame as hell premis, with 1950s special effects; just like the carry on Angel show that followed. Thinking it you fill it with bad acting teenage hearts throbs folks will watch. And only those with 3 brain cells did.

Just like the crap you find on the disney channel now with its laugh tracks as its the only way you would know when to laugh as it ain't funny as is.

Totally disagree with you on that one.Now if your your talking about the movie than thats one thing, but the series was awesome. As far as Twilight now that is just BAD!!I watched the first movie when it came out on video.I wish I could have that 2 hours back.It was just terrible.Back on topic,I would love to see a new Mortal Kombat movie,as long as they totally didnt screw it up.
