So it is capable of doing something no one would ever want to do. Good job on the gimmick Ford! Don't get me wrong they have a good product...

What I am wondering is what type of LSX motor is in the works for the camaro and vette.

The LS3 will have been in the vette longer than the LS2 with the 2011 models hitting the street (05-07 vs 08-11).

A new motor should be coming soon/not out of the question in the near future.

I think they should up the displacement to a 400 small block or so (6.6) and go direct injection with the tried and true ohv pushrod. Should be good for about ~500hp and get good mileage. That would be sweet.

Put that motor in the camaro for 2012 which would be enough to deal with the mustang GT (for now) and it would be absolutely killer in the 2015 camaro on the lighter alpha platform if that happens and so on...

Not only does the camaro need a new motor...the base vette needs one as well if it wants to stay ahead of the GT500.

Horsepower wars= Everybody wins.

I am just wondering how long this can last with everything going on in the world etc. :( . You never know when all of this could come to and end just like it did in the 60's and 70's

13.30 @ 107 was the best pass of the evening. The car trapped 106-107 every pass. I could see *Maybe* 108mph if we let it cool down for an hour or so but I don't see 110+ no matter what we do.

With a longer cool-down I could also see shaving a tenth or to as well but we are calling it good enough for stock.

Time to put a set of DR's on it and a tune and see what that yields next

Don't forget to stop and smell the roses NOW, oops I means the fumes NOW!
We all need to take a moment and enjoy what is going on with the power wars.

Ive wondered the same thing...performance has been steadily improving over the years (i remember when 400 hp was reserved for Porsche and Ferrari) and now here we are. When will the bubble burst?

and heres a question i pose for you...how much higher SHOULD hp go?

Next time Ford wants to do somthing like this... road trip or something and stay strictly at speed limits. Something more realistic than lapping Bristol at 43 mph for 15 and a half hour til the tank runs dry. This is one of the stupidest tests I've seen in a LONG time.

The driver had to be pissed when he found out what they were going to make him do. Probably sounded like this: "You want me to do what? For HOW long?? AT 40 MPH?!? Are you SERIOUS!?!? WTH?!"

What is more important here is what was the DA on the runs and are they corrected or non-corrected. People seem to overlook those factors....

That wasn't 4 years away. Go back to 2006 no one had any facts about the 5.0.

Actually this might be true, nothing concrete yet but might not be far off. Ford will be planning something huge for their Mustang anniversary. I can guarantee you that. And yes some people do know some stuff about the 2014 Stang.

No, you can guarantee nothing. Anyone who knows any facts about any 2014 car can't talk about it due to legal reasons. Anything new as far out as 4 years is still being tested by their designers and I'm sure they dont see it as 'fact' when they don't even know if its a feasible design or not yet.

These types of rumors and lies keeps internet forums alive.
