Once had my 97 Crown vic police interceptor broke into, all they got was a 8 year old cell phone and a bottle of ibuprofin.......... I got a broken window...... After my wheel had fallen off..... So yeah, they'll take or break into anything.

To some crimals, it's not what kind of car it is as much as it's steability. People who illegally traffic items or commit crimes can steal a car, commit the crime, then ditch it in a few days with thousands of miles added and destroyed physical appearance.

Yes, I think a 2001 Mustang GT is worth stealing....just like a 2001 Z28/SS Camaro. I don't think the year has anything to do with it. 2001 is not an old car IMO. I understand what you felt like when you saw your tampered keyhole. I would be livid if I saw that on either my truck or Camaro. The only suggestion I have to offer is never leave anything out in the open to encourage thieves to break into your car. I've had my truck for 6 years and my Camaro for 11. I've never had anyone try to break into them (knock on wood). Hiding stuff in the center console or under the seats while parked is probably one reason why I've been lucky so far.
